My Near Invisible Life

"You're crazy," I mutter to Jess, slumping down on a cushion next to her bed.

"Naa, just wait for him," she laughs, rolling off of her bed, onto the floor next to me.

"But all of his friends will be there," I sigh, running my hands through my long, dark, wavy hair. "They'll laugh at me, and call me desperate!"

"Let them," she yawns, leaning against the wall. "You'll know why you're there, and so will he. That's all that matters."

"Okay then," I say reluctantly, pulling myself up, "but it's your fault if I die of embarrassment!"

I have never kissed a guy, and I have never had any other experiences for that matter. I'm invited to parties, but so's everyone else. So it's not my fault that when someone actually notices me, I don't know what to do. And I can't ask Jess for help and advice, because we're just as bad as each other!

4. Still Party Time - 7:30pm

Chase leads me onto the dance floor, just as a slow song begins to play. Everyone, looks around for a partner, and they all start to dance with each other, their bodies pressed tightly together, heads lent on each others shoulder. Chase slides his arms round my waist, and pulls me towards him, so my head is rested on his chest, and I can feel his heart beating against me. I don't know what to do with my arms, so I just let them hang freely by my side, until he takes them, and drapes them around his neck, like it's the most natural thing to do.

He leads me, swaying to the music, and I close my eyes, and let the music take me to new places. He leans down, and gently kisses me on the forehead, and as I look up at him, he kisses me again, his lips gently touching mine. I smile up at him, and he pushes my hair away from my face, stroking my cheek with his hand. I move my hands away from his neck, and start tugging my dress down, because the last thing I want, is my dress to ride up too much, and expose my larger than life arse.

Chase shoves his hand into his pocket, and pulls out his mobile, "You got a number?" he mutters, making sure no one can hear him.

"Yeh," I reply, keeping my voice low.

He laughs, "Can I have it?"

I pretend to think about, then nod, "Yep, 07543926109."

"Thanks, I'll text you," he says awkwardly, pushing his phone back into his pocket. "I better go find my friends though, coz' they're proper pissed off with me for ditching them. Sorry."

"S'okay," I sigh lightly.

He gives me a cheeky grin, and winks. I smile, and he walks off, looking back at me, mouthing "sorry" all the time.
