This is a story about Cheetah & Luce, two persons who are different in every aspect but love. Do you want to read the story about Cheetah & Luce and marvel at that universe, where you're always in danger and possibly close to love. So close, that you can burn yourself. So close, that you become confused. So close, that you don't know what to choose?
If you want this and much more, do read this story, and do not hesitate to leave comments, be they deep criticism, hate comments or slightly more resigned comments. This world is full of wonders, and I am not one of them :p

Just an afterthough;
We follow Luce & Cheetah in the past and the present. As in, before they meet, and after they meet and the happenings after.

Another afterthought:
How do you like the cover?

Another afterthought:
How do you (not) like the ending?

I would really, really like a real review of this story and some constructive criticism.
Thank you.

3. Damn it

The present

"Damn it, Luce."

Pete thumps his fist hard into the wall, making a passing girl jerk. Pete doesn't notice. His gaze lingers on his silent phone and his mind lingers on the attempted calls that go nowhere.

"Damn it, Luce. Answer that freakin' phone!"

Pete doesn't look worried. His ice blue eyes are intense, his shoulders relaxed and his steps even, but his heart thumps hard and unevenly in his chest, shaking his very core.

"Damn it, Luce."

A worried frown appears on his face, making him look more handsome by the minute. Too many girls sigh in the full school corridor, and they all get a cold shoulder in response.

He runs his fingers through his hair, all the while looking at his silent phone, the frown deepening with every passing second.

He swears when another attempted call goes straight to voicemail.

"Hey, mate."

Leaf and Careener appear behind him, and he turns around, hope filling his eyes, "Did you find her?"

But he knows the answer before even finishing his question, their brooding gazes sweeping him into a tide of deep depression and pain.

"Why not call her 'rents, Cheetah?"

He looks at Careener and makes sure no related question is asked again. He calls again, and when it goes to Lucy's voicemail without even pausing to find her, he thumps his fist into the wall again, making his knuckles hurt, though the pain doesn't reach the same level as his heartache.

While her soft and sweet voice of her voicemail fills his ears, he makes a decision. If it can save her, he will do anything, even walking down to her parents' house, looking or asking for her.

He turns around and finds Leaf's eyes looking at him. Fright and nervousness is etched in every corner of his face. He wets his lips and opens his mouth, deciding to spill everything out and run for his life, "Maybe she ain't answerin', cause she's dumped you?"

"Don't be stupid, Leaf. That chick'd be too afraid to -"

Cheetah's steely voice interrupts their conversation, ice painting every word with icicles and frost, "You are both beggin' for it, I see."

Before he can beat them up, they are gone, leaving no trail. The crowd is too thick around him, and he doesn't bother to break the crowd to find them. A few girls catch his eye, but he doesn't see them. They all giggle and hide their faces behind their hands, thinking that they, at last, have caught the eye of the most popular and handsome boy in school.

They don't know that his heart has forever been taken by the silent and glowing girl, who walked down the street on that fateful day. He calls her phone again, again reaching her voicemail. The fright and nervousness is everywhere. He walks past the students without sensing them.

"Damn it, Luce," he whispers under his breath.
