My Writing Diary

This is just the steps I use here, and maybe a few inspiration notes. If you're interested, read it, but if you're not, please don't read it then insult me. :( Anyway, this will refer to other people's movellas, so if you choose to follow these steps with me, you might want to find them. That's all!

85. 24th May 2014

The last entry date is completely wrong. Well, almost. That's when I started writing then entry but I published it in either mid/late April or very early May.

At the moment, I'm watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. It's almost the end of the movie and I have two things on my mind:

1. Feels. You may or may not know what this means. If you do, you're one of my new favourite people.

2. This is why I want to be a writer. Amongst the imagination, the tale, the people, the feels, the beginning and the middle, there's the end. I want to write a series that I can be proud of (maybe even just one book) and end it as beautifully as it is in my power to do. Because I can look back and think how things have changed.

Apparently, that's so deep that my friend can see Adele rolling in it.

On another note, I need more fandom merchandise. I might hunt some down on Wednesday, when I go shopping for a book to make a certain type of notes in (Paperchase) and some adorable themed erasers (from a shop named Blott). I'm British, by the way, so we call them rubbers. But I'm aware that some Americans and people in other countries identify with 'rubber' as being a condom.

Anyway, onto when I plan to get going again. Today, I started to catch up on Hogwarts is here. It's an immersive Harry Potter website, letting you take classes that First Years would take. They've got quite a few features already and I'm loving it. If you join, my name is Serena Maple. You can choose your house and earn house points from academics. However, because of a member imbalance in the houses, you earn one point for every 10% you get on assignments and tests. They go to a personal counter and there's a leaderboard for the school and your house. But the points of a whole house aren't the result of adding every member's personal points together. It's when you add their academic performance together. You get a percentage and a letter grade for each subject.

Tomorrow, I'm going to be working on my homework from school. Two sets of revision and one English research project that my previous studies in Geography will help with. This year, they decided to take a GCSE (qualification) and squash it down into a year. Then stuff it into the year before you're supposed to do your normal GCSEs. It's worked quite well and is repeating with the next year to be my age. I had my exams on Tuesday the 13th and Thursday the 22nd of May. Yes, the latter was 2 days ago. ^_^ They went well, I hope.

Roleplay groups will be caught up with on Monday. I feel slightly bad for neglecting it but there are justifications behind it.

Writing, I'm pained to say, starts in June. It's not that far. But 'when in June' is the question. June begins on the Sunday before I go back to school (it's a one-week holiday, the half term holiday). I have two tests on the Tuesday. Minor compared to the GCSE Geography, yet still important to me as they are building up to a final GCSE in 2 years time. After those are done, I'll start writing again. I've been indulging those who read the novel I was concentrating on for the 100 Day Challenge, so Crumbling Earth will be taking the first hit as I have a half-completed chapter I dropped at the start of the challenge. I'll complete it at my own pace but it should be out soon enough.

Tomorrow, I'll also be beta-reading. I have a friend called Rupali, Indian and a brilliant writer. He writes about the Nayak brothers and his English is brilliant. I'm one of his beta-readers and I like to think we're also friends in some measure too. I've grown attached to the story, so I'll have to finish beta-reading it and read the others that he's written.

That's all for today, I hope (whoever you are) that you're well. :D
