I love writing, but I don't do it much. I'm going to try and focus! I play ps4 and work most of the time. Or sleep. But I have cool dreams that I turn into stories and think about stories a lot and write down sentences and paragraphs on napkins as they come to my head or quickly type it out in my phone with as many typos as possible. I love wolves, but somehow I've moved out of my werewolf phase and into a demons and angels phase (?) so you'll definitely see common themes. That is, if you actually read my stuff. That is, if I actually write enough to post something. I was hoping this site would help me stay organised, if not focused.

Only short stories, or, can it be a novel that isn't close to being finished when it's entered?

I entered a short story: Yin and Yang, for this competition.
I admit, its kind of lame and might not fit with the theme, but its the best I got.

Thanks. Perhaps when you are up to it, you could read and tell me your thoughts.

First chapter for "MINCED MEAT MURDERS" is up, and, I am wickedly enthused! (I feel like such a bad person when I think about writing murder, and, this one is the darkest s*i* ever!) Read if you wish, rated R for explicit violence. It contains less explicit sex as well. I am going to enter this one into ONE of the competitions here, soon, so, please read!

Summary: Magdalena is a girl from a small town, raised on her grandparent's farm. She doesn't dream of the bustling city, but, she does want more than the quiet fields and strange disappearances. Little does she know, that, moving would only bring her closer to the dangers and darkness that are hidden in the make up of the world.
Devereaux, also known as rogue, is a police officer who uses his hidden talents to help make the world a little safer, one case at a time. He tries to help Dally, before she incriminates herself in the case of a lifetime. There are things explainable in this world, some might say that they are even supernatural.

Do I do the dreams, or, the dark? They fit into both categories, but, I know that I must choose! I figured I'd wait and see once it got closer to the due dates, but, meeeeeep. I like to have things together... I have two murder mysteries that include dreams vital to the characters and the story itself.

You should do dreams. If the story is mostly dark, but dreams are essential, you should make the readers yearn for a happier ending, to need to dig a little deeper to unearth what is happening under the text

Can we make up a story and have it revolve around a character's dream? I write almost all of my stories based off of dreams I have, and, you wouldn't know, unless, I told you. But, if the story INCLUDES a character dreaming, that would make more sense... Thank you! Sorry that I need this clarification.

@[3 SECOND LUKE] we have to choose one of the competitions for each story, correct? We can't enter both with the same story? Because I have two murder mysteries that both revolve around dreams vital to the story and the characters so EEEEK now I'm torn on which one I should enter it into?

@[Jade Wolffe ] It sounds crazy but if you could somehow make these two ideas their own stories, I feel it would benefit you more as a writer. Also, I think it's better to attempt one competition, and maybe try participating in the other one once this one hits the deadline? I'm not too sure, but I think it's better to attempt one and then wait for the other.

Separating them would not work but I do appreciate the criticism! I decided to focus on one story for now and I put that in the dreams comp and if I have time later I can work on black Friday's.
