A Bountiful Bouquet

The prequel to any relationship worth keeping. A poem for Valentine's Day! 1st chapter is the normal poem I gave, the Alternate version is a more "adult" way to look at things in the poem and tells the whole story.

“Will you let me take your hand today?”
He pleaded with her as she shied away.
For all there was a shot in the dark,
But brought into light at the next mark.
And thus began the journey of two
As they marked their sands with a new debut.
And starting that very passing day
He gifted her a bountiful bouquet,
And he began to charmingly say:
“Everything's going to be okay.”

In May they shared their first coming time
When the two became true partners in crime;
And so began a tale told by two,
Looking out to the new coming view.
Together they sent their heart’s away,
To see if lights could last a rainy day.
Found complete for their wholeness to stay,
He handed her his bountiful bouquet
And he began to charmingly say:
“Everything's going to be okay.”

Fourteen months passed by and by from then
With many shared days held time and again-
‘Twas Valentine’s Day with colors red,
And though by chance some tears may have shed,
Much promise lied in the days ahead;
For as one they went wherever life tread.
Steadfast and awed in lover’s ballet,
He offered her his bountiful bouquet
And he began to charmingly say:
“Everything's going to be okay.”

On and on the two lovers endured;
No matter the struggle they stood secured.
No sickness nor weakness came to root,
For they ever were in hot pursuit.
They walked leaving footprints in the sand,
And continued on to the last sworn strand.
While some difficulties came their way,
Still he gave her a bountiful bouquet
And they began to charmingly say:
“Everything's going to be okay.”
