Valentine's Writing Competition

Valentine's Writing Competition

Struck by Cupid's arrow yet - or trying to avoid it?

Ah, romance! Your heart is racing, your palms are sweaty, and your appetite is gone. You couldn't sleep if you tried. It's impossible to focus on schoolwork. Then you realize you must be sick, or even more serious - in love?

Not many feelings are as intense as love. One minute you feel in high spirits, the next you feel anxious. Think about all the stories, songs, and poems focusing on the ups and downs that come with love, trying to capture the experience that is looooove.

If you're single on the 14th of February, you're probably not relating to any of this right now. Instead you're thinking it's that silly season again, with all the chocolates, greeting cards, jewelry, overpriced red roses, and page-long cheesy facebook posts. But hey, you are still able to buy yourself special and discounted candy :)

...Or maybe you are not even interested in finding love, but are feeling perfectly fine with your own company. You could binge watch a TV series and celebrate friend-love instead on Valentine's.

And you know what? This competition is still worth participating. The point is that you get to write about what love and friendship is to you - all loved up, unhappy/happy, single, or aromantic!

How to Participate

You have three weeks starting from today to write your movella. It's up to you what you're going to write: a poem, a oneshot, a longer story, a fanfic, and so on.

Just choose one of the following options:

Write a Movella about a love/hate relationship or friendship.

 Write a Movella about a on-again/off-again relationship

Write a Movella about a heartbreak, being single, or "aromantic"

You may not update your entry/movella once the competition deadline has passed.

You may not use the same movella in future competitions.

You may not use a movella that has already been published in other competitions.
