Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: A Harry Potter Fanfiction Competition

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: A Harry Potter Fanfiction Competition

For fanfic writers, potter fans, and those who love beasts of all kinds and nature...

From June 26, 1997 when the first book was published, to July 15, 2011 when the Deathly Hallows Part Two came out, a magical pandemonium has rocked the world... a pandemonium full of witches and wizards.

You guessed it! It's the Harry Potter competition we've all been waiting for - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is on its way to theatres, and Movellas is preparing for it in a flourish.

For those of you wondering what we mean with all this "fantastic beasts" talk, let us quickly fill you in. This is a Harry Potter film (based on J.K. Rowling's book of course:) coming out in the U.S. in November, and it takes place seventy years before Harry Potter. In this case, it's a writer called Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne) in New York's secret community of witches and wizards that's the focus of this tale of adventure and fantasy.

Heard of this already? More importantly, have you read the book? Well it's time to put that and your other Harry Potter fanfiction writing skills to the test! *readying wands together*

And now, Aparecium!

How to Participate

In this competition, we want you to write a fanfiction story on either of the categories below but we also want to leave the option for you all to be creative if you prefer designing covers or fanart.

1. Write a Harry Potter fanfiction that takes place in the past...

Since Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them takes place in the distant past with Newt Scramander, we thought it only fitting that you all write a story that takes place in the magical past. Whether it's with James Potter and the Marauders, or Godric Gryffindor himself.

2. Write a story about the interaction between a Muggle and a Wizard

A great example would be when Newt loses his case, and then a muggle just happens to stumble upon it. Write about an interaction (and maybe an adventure?) between a wizard and a muggle.

3. Design an alternate cover to the movie or book and/or create your own Harry Potter fanart.

We know many of you like fanfiction but prefer to stick to designing when it comes to this epic fandom. Well, we encourage you all to create fanart on your favorite Harry Potter character or scene and/or design covers that you think would better suit the book or film :)
