Rule of Lore: Create Your Own Worlds Competition

Rule of Lore: Create Your Own Worlds Competition

For those who love to create & write about fictional worlds of their own design...

One of the fundamental reasons to write a story is to make your own world, with its own characters and its own lore. We all love making these worlds in our heads, which can sometimes be more fun than actually writing the story!

Wondering just what we mean when we say "Create Your Own Worlds?" Let's look at a good example - the Lord of the Rings has elves that can live for eternity. In that future, there are 12 Districts, all uniquely different in culture and wealth. There are 7 Kingdoms in Westeros alone, all with their own ruling houses. All of our favourite fandoms have their own rules and regulations that we love to know and understand, and this competition is just like that - it just involves worlds of your own design!

So, as a continuant from the “Kick-Ass Heroine” competition for all those who were not allowed to participate outside of the UK & Ireland, we bring you a competition where you must design your own worlds. That’s right, you must create, invent, draw, and otherwise write about your own awesome worlds and characters... sounds fun right?

How to Participate

You can enter this competition in different ways. We’d love to see you describe your world to us briefly in a story, the fundamental parts and societies of your world, the characters, etc. You may also draw your own world in the form of covers, fanart, or other drawings. Some ideas would be to create a map or draw the capital city!

Just to be clear:

1. Write about the fundamentals for your world in a story. Otherwise, just describe the world how you would like to (images can be used to describe your world, but they all must be CC0).

2. Create art about your world. This could be fanart from your favorite fandom with a new twist in the world you've created for it. Digital or hand drawn drawings are included, as well as covers.
