Our New Year's Competition

Happy New Year!

How do YOU write into the New Year?

The holidays have been wonderful & rewarding in so many ways for all of us who spent time with our families and loved ones on this special day :-) Now it's time to look ahead to the new year - towards 2016!

About the Competition

Formulate your entry as either a poem / speech, a longer story (minimum 2,000 words), or an article / essay.

Choose one of these options for writing your story:

  1. Write your New Year's resolutions for 2016 (and let's see if you can keep them...we'll follow up on it and ask during the next year, even if the competition has been over for awhile:-) It is not enough just to write: "In 2016, I would like to stop biting my nails and dedicate all my finger activity to write on Movellas." You must write an explanation for WHY you chose the New Year's resolutions that you did.
  2. Write a story about the coolest / craziest / weirdest / biggest / best New Year celebration you can think of or have ever experienced, either as a fictional story or as a journalistic report. Maybe you were with a character at one of The Great Gatsby's legendary parties...
  3. Write about starting a "new chapter" and let 2016 be the blank pages that you write on. It can be anything between heaven and earth. Maybe you started at a new school, have moved to a new neighborhood / country, or perhaps some sort of other breakthrough happened in your life (it can be both sad or happy...)

The Prizes

1st place will receive a $30 gift card from Amazon to choose a new calender of your choice for 2016!

2nd place will receive an awesome new calender for 2016!

3rd place will receive another awesome new calender for 2016!!

You may not update your story/movella once the competition deadline has passed.

You may not use the same movella in future competitions.

You may not use a movella that has already been published in other competitions.

We look forward to reading your entries :-) Happy New Year!!!
