Greetings, my name is Tale Weaver. I come bearing stories of heroism, morality, and adventure. To me the art form of writing is used to inspire and spark the imagination of the mind and to move the reader. I have read and seen many stories to inspire me to write and spin my own tales. Since I have been touch in such a way, it is my desire to do the same and to pass on a chain of imagination to the next inspired person. To improve upon what has failed and to advance what has succeeded. I do not tolerate the laziness of certain fandoms either and I do not appreciate something sloppy outshining the brilliant. I will not hesitate to declare what is wrong with a work if I need to address it, but I shall always listen to the opinions of other to try and understand. I return I wish the same. Fair criticism with the honest opinion. However, rub me the wrong way and I will not stop myself from releasing the torrent of flames in my comment.

Thank You for listening and enjoy what I have to offer.

So far reads like a pilot to a TV series. And I'm saying that in a good way.

If you want my honest thoughts, I'll tell you. Your concept is interesting and the trailer display some of the basic ideas well, but what you have for writing is just clustered and a little hard to follow. Then again I don't know what the requirements for the contest are. If you can give me a little background for this contest and maybe explain a couple of things, that would be great.
May your road lead you to warm sands,

I'll give you the big headedness. And your Luck argument is well put, but expansion and creativity goes beyond how someone dies. Star Wars IS the clear winner in terms of creativity, but you don't give credit where it is due for Harry Potter. Yes, there is a spell specifically for killing people, but you forget the creativity of the other aspects of the wizard world. There are the living paintings, elf servants, a division of government controlling, and surveying the use of all magic. You name people that were killed by either Voldemort or a Deatheater via Avada Kedavera and how it's "lame" people are killed by sticks. For Sirius Black he wasn't killed by a DeathSpell, he was pushed into the afterlife where no one could come back from. I wouldn't mind hearing an argument as why Star Wars is better than Harry Potter. I would remind you AGAIN that I love ALL THE STAR WARS MOVIES more than Harry Potter, so quit saying that the reason I'm replying is because I'm a butt hurt Potterhead. I'm doing this because you are going through criticism in all the wrong ways. Nothing you have stated is any reason to convince anyone which is the better movie, save for the immature people who have previously commented going "Star Wars FTW" "Potterheads be mad LOL"

I'm not sure if this IS to be taken seriously or not. If so, then every argument you made is completely WRONG. I don't want any beef with you, but I can't let this slip.
    1. COPYRIGHT
Yeah, because a story has some similarity in structure, the one that came after HAS to be a rip-off. No. They both share basic plot structures that every story has used. The old mentor that you compare Obi-Wan and Dumbledore to has been a stable since ancient mythology. And the comparison of Annalin being trained as a Jedi is vastly different from Harry going to a school for wizards. Neither are original, but yet they're as different as apples are to oranges.
    2. POWERS
Once again, mystical powers have been around since ancient mythology and both the Force and Wizardry are both equally explained and developed in both stories.
    3. CHARACTER NAMES
This one just felt like petty nit-picking. You go into great detail of Palpatine's name using irrelevant information. Then say that Tom Riddle's name reminds you of "Tomboys" which is why you don't like it. You like Anakin's name because it's long, but hate Harry because it reminds you of 1D. Last out of all people you compare Obi-Wan to Ron. Why? Is it because they rhyme? They are completely different characters. Obi-Wan is the mentor and Ron's the best friend comparing the two makes NO SENSE. While Obi-Wan's name has symbolism, Licas likely gave him the name because it sounded cool. Ron is a common name so Rowling gave most of the main character's simple average names (aside from Draco, Albus, Severus, etc.)
    5. QUOTATION
I want to make one thing clear. I like both Star Wars AND Harry Potter. But Ipay credit where it is due. Harry Potter IS better written than Star Wars. I still love Star Wars more than HP, but realize this: George Lucas is only the creative mind behind the MOVIES. He had no part in the spin-offs, games, or books, other than giving permission for those to be made and determine whether or not it's canon. Even then Lucas only had complete control over THREE of the movies: A New Hope, Phantom Menace, and Attack of the Clones. As for his writing, I can't deny that he is a horrible writer and mediocre director. Any part written by him is either OK, DULL, or CRINGEWORTHY.
    "Are you an angel?”
    “…I’ll try spinning. That’s a good trick. Whoa-ah!”
"But Anakin, Chacellor Palpatine is evil!"
"No, it's because I'm so in love with you."
    Now that's not fair.
I should include the Original Trilogy as well
    "Laser Brain"
    "Laugh it up Fuzzball"
"But I was going to Toshi Station to pick up power converters."

J.K. Rowling not only have complete control over her books as an author, but she knew how to develop all of them. How we can hate Severus Snape for being a jackass to Harry in the first books to feeling sorry for him in the later books. Harry himself also grew as a character throughout the series as much, if not more, than Luke or Anakin did. Harry went from being an unwanted loser to pompous celebrity to being a responsible man by the end in the span of all 7 books and 8 movies. Even when he was at his worst, he still wasn't too much of a douche to be unlikeable and still root for him.

Conclusion: If you wanted to compare these two franchises, then I can say you did so in all the wrong angles. You never gave good reasoning, Evidence you did provide were nothing short of petty biases, and failed to make even the simplest comparisons.
I don't want any trouble with you or anyone, but part of being not only a critic, but a writer, biases have to be put aside and criticism has to be given where it is needed. Take my words as they are, but how you deal with them will show your true colors. One last thing.
I do think Star Wars is better. I think the prequels are underrated. But Harry Potter was better developed and better written than anything George Lucas could have made.
