robynshine: she writes a lot and talks a lot. She has a variety of interests but, above all else, she craves a good story. The decent ideas come from any random thoughts that may wonder into Robyn's mind, or from a vivid dream she may have had, or even from a music video that she happened to see (what? It's happened before.). The point of these stories is not only to entertain but also to show the reader that things aren't as bad as they seem or that hey, it could be a whole lot worse. Ranging a few genres, Robyn's stories take a myriad of forms, deal with a variety of issues, but the hope is always that they please and satisfy.

Dr Mr Dahl (can't call him Roald :P)

As you have been dead since I was born, I can only imagine how you may respond to such a message. It would have been interesting, to say the least, and at least a little bit absurdly funny. That how all your writing was. Brilliant! with just a hint of absurdity. Nevertheless, I would still like to wish you a Merry Merry Christmas and a wonderful festive season.

    My eternal adoration,
    Robyn

"Holidays" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. What a great one!!

My favourite is "Where art thou, Mother Christmas?" by Roald Dahl. He was such a brilliant man!

    Where art thou, Mother Christmas?
    I only wish I knew
Why Father should get all the praise
    And no-one mentions you.

I’ll bet you buy the presents
And wrap them large and small
While all the time that rotten swine
    Pretends he’s done it all.

    So Hail To Mother Christmas
    Who shoulders all the work
    And down with Father Christmas,
    That unmitigated jerk.

All around the world, the children get excited, for in twenty-four days’ time Christmas will be here. While there isn’t snow all over the world, the Christmas tree, wherever it is, is a symbol of the love and joy that is coming on that wonderful day. The stars in the sky shine brightly for the children and the ones on the tree remind them that the day is getting closer. Count your angels for Christmas is almost here!
