(I haven't been on Movellas for years and I thought I would. I found that I still had a load of old (and cringey) stories on here - and I remembered being a fan of you, hence me reading this).

Anyway, this is such a philosophical poem. I had to read it several times and really think about what the poem is saying. As with all your work I've read, I love it. Especially the line 'Who needs lungs if your breath is in a character's dialogue?'. It's what I always try to achieve when I'm writing - to have a part of me in it so it can continue living, and I think you described that beautifully.

Did you perform this poem? I've tried writing spoken word poetry, but I've never been brave enough to perform it other than inside my head, to myself. I'm constantly watching spoken poetry on YouTube though (ever heard of Sarah Kay? I love her).

Thank you so much!! I don't really go on here much either, so seeing your comment in an email was lovely.

I did perform it, there's actually a video of part of it on my Instagram if you're interested (all of my usernames are the same). I have one of Sarah Kay's collections, she's one of my faves (behind Kate Tempest and Neil Hilborn).

I have exciting news! I know I haven't been on for a while, but there is a Movella that I'm a co-author to. It's a competition/game thing. It hasn't started yet, but be sure to check it out. Here is the link:
One LinerOne Liner: the game that gets every writer writing. A random first line/sentence of a story is submitted, and then each participant goes away and writes...

After not being on Movellas for a long time, I might just be slowly coming back. I've had a long break from it :)

That is amazing - stunning, even. I love it so much! The rhyming is really well done, and I love the questions at the start of each stanza. Amazing!
