Just a stay at home mom who decided to try my hand at fan fiction out of boredom. People either will love it or hate it.

Thanks. I hope so. I rewrote that chapter so many times and I'm still not sure about it

Working on a new story now. Just published the prologue, but still unsure if I'll publish the rest when it's done. Title is " Sins of the Father " but that may change later too

Finished with my attempts at Supernatural fan fiction. Moving onto a story I started months ago. Any advice from veteran writers on what makes a good story, like how much detail is to much. I want to be descriptive, but don't want to drag out details

I don't know if I'd call myself a veteran writer, but I certainly read a lot and I generally prefer less detail except where it's critical. If you only give the key details to let the reader get a sense of the scene/character/setting, then it kind of shows that you have faith in them to infer the rest. As english teachers are so fond of parroting, it's better to "show, not tell," and that's a lot easier with less description and more focus on plot and action and dialogue and whatnot.

Thank you for your insight. I will keep that in mind while writing.

This website is so cool. I never expected to have almost 1500 views of my fan fiction, especially since it was my first attempt. Thanks to all the viewers. And I look forward to checking out the other authors here.
