My name is Quin, and, as you will soon come to realise, I am spectacularly awful at writing bios.

I love writing, reading and obscure podcasts. My life is pretty much a musical. Laid back to the point of lazy. A minor origami addiction and an avid enthusiasm for eyebrows. My head is quite literally in the clouds. Art museums and libraries give me life and travelling is my favourite thing to do. Adventures man, you just gotta have them.

I'm on Movellas to improve my writing and hopefully make some friends so if you want to talk let's do it.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Oooh only three? This is difficult...
    The Martian by Andy Weir
I got this from the library and couldn't put it down, it is a breathtaking mix of humour, suspense (it's so tense sometimes I just can't), action and insane space geekery.
Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer
This is the true story of Christopher McCandless who decided to drop out of the system and become a wanderer. An adventure book with lots of tears (so many tears).
Errr... and for my third if you haven't read them already,
The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien
Just go read them, you need to. It is a necessity.
Also just going to slide in one more... If you have any younger brothers or sisters/ do a lot of babysitting I can't recommend enough The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznik
It has some of the best illustrations I have ever seen and is a really wonderful story, my brother absolutely adores it.

I know I'm a little late but I'll go ahead anyway, easily one of the best presents I have ever received was the result of a flippant remark and an overheard conversation. I'll set the scene for you, I was complaining bitterly to a friend about having writer's block or something along those lines just before the christmas holidays and another girl happened to hear. She then proceeded to quietly recommend to me a certain little site called Movellas.
Having never come across a website like it before I took a little while to become accustomed to it all but after a few months I had fully began to appreciate it for what it was. As cheesy as it sounds I was amazed by the wonderful community and opportunities that were suddenly made available. The myriads of incredibly talented people from all over the world inspired and delighted whilst the beautifully patient managers kept it all in check.
And even though I am often too nervous to make a movella public or to post on the walls of the users I admire I just want to say a heartfelt thank you for a wonderful year on this site and for all of you for making it that way.
And so the small mention of a name just over a year ago turned into one of the best presents I have ever received. It was a present that improved my writing, brightened so many dark days and made me truly feel part of something. So thank you.

Hey there, so I logged on today and all of my Movellas is in danish, I think it must be a glitch but I'm not really sure what to do about it. Unfortunately I am at present unable to understand any danish at all so any help is very welcome. Thank you in advance :) xx

Uh oh. Will it not switch back if you change the language to English? It's at the very bottom of the page on the right bottom corner.
