    1) Home Alone - what can I say? - a classic! It's just such a funny, heartwarming movie and the scene where the 'Red Bandits' break into Kevin's house, only to be met with vicious (and painful!) retaliation is everyone's favourite bit of the movie. The message of the importance of family, especially at Christmas isn't delivered in a cheesy, forced way and is conveyed in a subtle manner, through Kevin's realisation that Christmas isn't Christmas without your family.

    2) Christmas with the Kranks - this is my mum's favourite that I was introduced to a couple of years ago. The appeal of this movie this the comedic genius of husband and wife Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis. It's such an entertaining movie that's easy to watch and it never gets boring! Can't count the number of times I've seen this one!

    3) Deck the Halls - I haven't seen this one yet this year, so I'll need to get on that ASAP! Like the rest of my favourites, Deck the Halls is a stand out for its comedy - Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick are simply hilarious! If you love a festive comedy with a dose of jealous rivalry over the ability of your house's Christmas lights to be seen from space I can't recommend this one highly enough!

    (honourable mention: The Polar Express)

Honestly, I wouldn't even try to convince someone unstable enough to abduct me to try let me go. Instead I'd formulate the most elaborate getaway plan and leave the sucker biting the dust. No one can match my stealth skills...

Another time, when I was around eight or nine years old, I was freaking out in school because my teacher refused to kill any wasps that flew into our classroom and on this specific occasion there were around four in the room. At one point, one wasp started annoying me and I got so scared I started to scream/cry and stood up really abruptly. I was just standing screaming, trying to whack the wasp away and it flew into my mouth and I swallowed it - then threw it up five minutes later in the bathroom.
