My aunt grabbed my bags to put them in the back seat, as I got in the car I felt weird. I felt as if I should have waited for him. As we made our way to a small house, I had no idea that Bradford had country side. It was nice, quiet, and peaceful. Just what I needed. My aunt sighed and gave me a key, “here dear, I made a copy of the house key that way you can get in after school.” I smiled and took the key from her hands. As we walked in I saw my uncle Kurt, last time I saw him I was about 2 or 3 years old. We never visited my aunt because my father always had something against my aunt & uncle. My father never got along with my mum’s family, so I never got the chance to actually get to know them. My uncle & aunt had lost their daughter when I turned 3 due to a car crash. I was surprised that my aunt was driving after not even leaving the house for 6 years. My uncle looked at me with the biggest smile, he said “Annabelle? Is that you?” I just walked over to him & gave him a big hug. It was weird, the feeling I had. I never saw my dad as an idol, but when it came to my Uncle he was the one I actually looked up to. The last time I hugged him I could only reach up to his hips now I’m up to his shoulders. He looked at me & said “I’m glad my Annabelle is back.” I just smiled & said “me too.” My Aunt showed me my room, which was upstairs next to their library. My Uncle read a lot, my Aunt wrote. I only took a small glance at the library before my aunt called me over, and I saw a huge pile of pages. My Aunt must be writing again. I put my suitcases and purse down on the queen sized bed, I looked around & I noticed this was the room where I always stayed in when me & my mum came over. My Aunt looked over at me & said “remember this room?” I just nodded since I could barely speak; the thought of me standing in the one room where I actually had good memories was just an overwhelming feeling. The phone rang which caused me to kind of snap out of things. “Susan” My Uncle called from downstairs.” Well, here’s the closet” she said pointing at door “and here’s the bathroom” she said walking up to another door across the hall. “Alright, cool.” I smiled. “Susan!” My Uncle called again. “Coming!” said My Aunt, “I’ll be back” she said as she walked down the stairs. I start to unpack my things & putting them into place. I took off my jumper & completely forgot my mum’s locket was in the pocket. It fell to the ground, me expecting it to make a thud noise on the wood floor, made a whimpering sound. I look down, there was a dog just standing there, looking up at me. He looked so familiar, & then I remembered. “Wesley!” I said as I sat on the ground petting him. He licked my face, & his tail was out of control. He started barking, he ran down stairs. I had no idea why, until I heard someone was outside. I tried looking out the window but the porch wouldn't let me see anything, other than some motorcycle on the side of the road. No one was on it though; I thought it seemed weird so I went down stairs to tell my aunt. “Annabelle!” My aunt called. I came down the stairs & there was this guy, standing in the living room talking to my Uncle. My aunt hugged me & said “I need you to go upstairs & lock your window & your door.” I broke out of the hug & looked at her confused. “There’s no need for that.” My Uncle said. “Of course there is! This is her first day here, & I’m not going to let anything happen to her.” I glanced over at the guy, but I couldn't tell who he was. It was weird, I couldn't see him clearly. I looked back at my Uncle squinting, he was blurry too. I started to feel weak & as if I was drowning. My uncle looked over at me & knew exactly what was happening. “Get her inhaler!” he shouted. I fell to the ground but never hit the ground. Someone had cached me. I felt like I couldn't breathe, & everything was so blurry. I passed out. I woke up on the couch; the first thing I saw was that guy

. He looked at me confused and said “Is something wrong?” I nodded no and walked off to the washroom. I kept thinking that this has to be a dream or something; it’s just unusual for this to happen. I splashed water on my face and took my medication. I soon got it together and left the washroom. As I was walking down the aisle I took a deep breath and sat down, next to him. He just looked over and smiled. I have no idea why but it drove me crazy. I just smiled back and turned around to look out the window. He started chuckle, I turned around and said “what?” He just said, “it’s night time, what could you possibly see?” I felt stupid for a second but I just said “Clouds?” He leaned towards the window, meaning he was getting closer to me. He looked out the window and said “I see a whole bunch of nothin” I closed the blinds and said “well, not anymore” and laughed. He looked over at me and smiled, still close to me he stared into my eyes. I wasn’t exactly sure what he was thinking, but he looked so deep in my eyes that it gave me chills. There was a silence, Until the pilot broke the silence as he announced “we are landing in 3 minutes.” I got startled by the loud sound that I stopped making eye contact with him and looked up at the speaker. He looked away also, and started digging in his pockets searching for something. I just put my phone and ear phones in my jumper and started to get my purse ready.
As they started to dismiss I noticed he was writing down something on a small post-it note. At this point no one was no longer sitting everyone was up and ready to get off, even me and him. He looked up and put the pen in his pocket. He looked over at me and reached his hand out to give me the post-it note and I reached my arm out to grab it but there where so many people that I started to move without even walking, he tried to catch up but we eventually lost each other. As I got to the pickup section I thought, why not wait for him? So I put my stuff down and waited for him. Unfortunately my aunt was already here; she ran up to me and gave me the biggest hug ever. She looked at me and said “wow darling, you’ve grown so much!” I smiled and gave her a hug. She grabbed one of my bags and led me towards the car. I wanted to ask her if we could wait, but then I thought what’s the point I don’t even knows his name.

“Annabelle how would describe this accident?” said the judge.
As a little girl I remember looking into my mum’s eyes and seeing the pain she lived through every day. I was 16 years old when my mum died. In a way I blame myself for not doing anything to help her, but in a way I think that it was the best for her. My father was guilty of my mum’s death, at least in my eyes. They would always fight, and every time my mum would end up with a bruise. The night my mum died I was at work, a local nursery down the street. I got a call from my father and all he said was “I messed up, bad.” It didn’t take me long to figure out what he’s done. They got in argument because my mum brought up a divorce; he started shouting at her so my mum got her jumper and keys and left. My father was mad so he went after her to give her “what she deserved.” He was too late to get her out of the car, so he got in his car and drove after her, leading her to a bridge, a very old bridge. He went full speed behind her, my mum lost control of the wheel, and crashed into the side of the bridge witch in a matter of seconds fell apart. “My mum drowned, and my father did nothing but blame everyone else. “ I said.
“Very well, I think I’ve heard enough. I now declare Robert Smith Guilty, Annabelle Smith will now live with her closest family member-”
I bit the inside of my lip as I got more and more tense to hear who she was about to say.
    “Susan Smith.”
I sighed in relief, it was my aunt. She lived in Bradford, England, Far away from my father. I was satisfied, justice had been done finally. I looked at my father as he was escorted into a jail cell behind a huge metal door. The grief and anger in his eyes made me get chills as if he hated me. But, I couldn’t care less because I hated him too.
As I packed my things I found myself tearing up as I held my mums favorite bracelet. It was silver and had the words “Forever in my heart” written around the inside. I put it in my front pocket of my jumper and wiped the tears off of my eyes. I got up and looked around my bedroom to see if I missed anything, but all I saw was an empty room full of horrible memories. Usually a normal teenager would remember all the sleepovers they had and all the fun things that happened in their bedroom but then there’s me... Never had a sleepover, never decorated my room. All I really did in my room was sleep and cry. I wasn’t going to miss this place at all.
As I arrived at the airport I called my aunt and told her I was boarding my plane right now, and she just said “I can’t wait to see you sweetie!” Her voice was a combination of happiness and excitement. I said “See you in a bit, Auntie” and hung up.
The inside of the plane was cold but full of chatter, I saw many tourist talking about how beautiful Bradford was. I sat far away from everyone because I knew they would never stop talking, I didn’t mind I liked the silence. I put my ear phones in and slowly started to drift away.
It was about 10 am when the pilot said over the speakers “We will be arriving at Bradford around 12:40pm” The loud speakers woke me up and gave me a small scare, I looked besides me and there where someone’s empty cup and some type of jumper. I looked around to see who’s it was but no one was near, I ignored it and got up to go to the washroom. As I got up I didn’t realize someone was passing by and I suddenly bumped into some person and fell on my bum. “Oh gosh, I’m sorry” I said. “It’s alright, don’t worry about it” a guy said. I looked up to see who it was, it was a guy. He had gorgeous light brown eyes and a breath-taking smile. I probably looked like an idiot, but I couldn’t help it I got lost in his voice and eyes. He chuckled, “um, you alright?” he said. I pulled it together and said, “Yeah, yes. I’m-I’m, I’m ok.” He just smiled and sat down on the seat next to mine, I was speechless. How can this guy be sitting next to me, this doesn’t happen to me. Ever.
