I was born in 1965 in Tring, a town nestled neatly in the shadow of the Chiltern Hills some fifty miles from London. At the heart of the town is the renowned Zoological Museum; a place of magic and wonder filled to the rafters with animals from all over the world - gorillas, lions and tigers, snakes, fish, whales, dodos and two dressed Mexican flees all shot, stuffed and mounted by Lord Rothschild around in the late 19th early 20th century.

During the school holidays I’d spend a great deal of my time wandering around the museums maze of rooms, corridors and alcoves, each crammed with the bountiful species of Earth. Only the snake cabinets would give me pause. However pause was not something I did. I’d almost run passed it screaming, hoping my dreams that night would not be haunted by the cabinet’s occupants – which invariably they would be. At the same time part of me was drawn to it; I was fascinated and repelled at the same time. This extraordinary museum fired my imagination from an early age, compelling me on the path to start writing; and gave me a rational phobia.

For most of my working life I have been an animator, mostly on children's TV series such as Peppa Pig and the New Wombles. During the last few years I have taken my writing more seriously. Currently I'm editing my first young adult book. Also I'm writing short stories in different genres to develop my writing style and improve it.

Hey. Just added the first few chapters from my young teens novel - The Dreamer and the Monster, his King and the Tower Chronicles. I'm very keen to get feed back to help me with the editing and re-writes I am currently making to the rest of the book. So would love to hear anything you have to say about it. I started writing it about 6 years ago and now feel I am approaching the point where I want to put it out there.Enjoy

Terrific. Really enjoyed it. Are there plans for it to be released in the UK? Love the opening. Remembering being born is one thing but remembering a time before that? Pulls you right into the fantasy world you have created. I realise you are an extremely busy writer and you probably get people like me all the time asking you to read their (as of yet unpublished) work, but would love it if you had five minutes to check out my story - The Dreamer and the Monster, his King and the Tower Chronicles. Cheers.

Four decades of peace have done little to ease the mistrust between humans and dragons in the kingdom of Goredd. Folding themselves into human shape, dragons attend court as ambassadors, and lend their...

Just read the first 3 chapter and will read more! It's a terrific premise and I love how you introduce each of the main characters with their own chapters. Quite right your story is so popular on here. Would love any feedback on my own story I recently posted. As it's at a critical stage i really wanted some opinions from it's target audience and hopefully Movellas will provide. Any hoo, keep up the great work!

This was originally for the Valentine's Day competition. The information said to write about love, so I did. My character is 'Love', who stopped believing in itself long ago. Edit: Oh my goodyness!...
