Hey! My name's Jem, and I'm a short, odd-looking, socially awkward sixteen-year-old who's had the same haircut for the last decade of my life. I absolutely adore drawing, and if I do a good one, it might even make it past my fireplace and into my long-term memory without getting maliciously destroyed. My true pride and joy, though, are my three ridiculous novels, all of which are crazily far-fetched riffs on the horror genre. Bump in the Night's all about ghosts, Let's Just Call them Monsters goes mental on alien zombie robot puppets, and my newbie book Bloodsuckers is one of the only vampire novels since the nineteenth century to be gratuitously violent and gory with no glamourisation whatsoever. So, yeah. That's me. I ramble too much. Okay, bye! :-)

Wow, I've just started reading this and I love it! It's wonderful. Cassiopeia (awesome name by the way) is a truly compelling protagonist, but then again so is Lucian, which makes the whole story seem so much greater in scope and much more sympathetic. Also, I love the way you implement the lore of the fantasy world you've created- you introduce new bits of information cleanly but subtley, which makes it a really smooth read. Also, your descriptions and attention to detail are astonishing. I love your writing style! <3

Guys! I forgot to celebrate my 1 year Movellas anniversary on account of being in the middle of nowhere on the tenth. So, yeah. Yay for me, I guess! The year's passed in no flipping time at all, even though I've spent it writing slash planning five different books (two of which are finished) and drawing over a million pictures of random shit.
Also, yesterday was the anniversary of first publishing Bump in the Night, which, my God, has come SO far since its first draft. Anyone who read it before the rewrite will tell you. Oh, and it's still my favourite. Plus, it crossed over 7,000 views this morning!
Bump in the NightThey’ve built their careers on camera trickery and false advertising, but they’ve gotten so used to faking it, none of them have even considered the possib...

I still love Movellas as much as I did when I first joined, so I hope the next year will be just as prolific as this one. Hopefully, I'll finish BS (that's the abbreviation for Bloodsuckers, not bullsh*t), and then make a start on the next book I'm planning, which (spoiler alert) involves dinosaurs. I'm also thinking about writing a sequel to Let's Just Call Them Monsters, but 'tis only speculation! Anyway, bye! <3 :) XD

Congrats, Jem! I'll be sure to read Bump in the Night over the next week or so when I'm not writing.

This is beautiful! Wonderfully written with haunting imagery. Which I must now attempt to do justice with nought but my coloured pencils. Here goes nothing! :)

    mumbled "Follow button issues??? "

    6 days agoReply
Hey guys! I was just wondering, is anyone else having issues following people all of a sudden? Every time I try to click the 'follow' button on someone's page it doesn't respond to me, and I've tried it in different browsers and even pinched my sister's laptop- it won't work no matter what I do. Is anyone else having this problem? It's just I'm starting to wonder if it's a thing with the website. If not, does anyone know how I could go about dealing with it? Nothing imminent, it's just I feel the day I have more followers than following is the day I stop feeling like a nice person. XD Thanks guys! :)

Ah, thank you. I don't actually have the app but it's good to know I'm not the only one :)

I think it's the app that's a little dodgy. If you do it on a computer, it should be fine.

I had that issue last week, but with most of the buttons and links on the site. I think it might've sorted itself out by now xD
