Novelist, playwright and satirist repped by Curtis Brown. Also lots of other -ist words.

Has a writing problem of the addiction variety. Likes dark and twisty things with unexpected moments of humour - or vice versa.

This is really intriguing, and I love your synopsis. Some of the descriptions are lovely, and the level of detail is great.

One thing I did find, though, is slightly too much "what the heck is going on" in the opening. I didn't feel I knew enough from the summary to guide me, and with-holding information is definitely a good thing, but I think goes too far. I ended up wondering why I was investing in reading on, because it didn't deliver quite enough in that opening section.

Could you give more sense of place, people, what's happening, etc? Sometimes, too, you step towards giving Elijah's thoughts, and then you step back outside. I feel it would be more comfortable if everything could be through his eyes, including thougths on the others, etc. That way you could give that little bit more suggestion of plot, too.

I hope that helps! I'm liking, and will continue reading, and I'm very happy to give more feedback too.

If you have time, I'd love a similar critique from someone who writes in such a careful, considered style on my The Butterfly Catchers. It's entered for the Our Streets competition, and probably more significantly is on submission. I'm doing final edits with my agents and would love as much feedback from fellow writers as possible.

    It's here:

The Butterfly CatchersThe Butterfly Catchers is inspired by three brutal murders which took place in the Old Farmhouse on my street, in 1932. Those murders weren't solved -...

Obviously all likes, fans, etc, would be great too but only if you'd like to. :-)

Hey hey! I'm just letting people I think might appreciate it know about my new book written under my other identity (it's really not very secret... ;-) I'm hoping you'll really like it.

It's a historical thriller with a burning romantic love triangle at the centre, based on a triple murder at the old farmhouse down my street in 1932.

If you're happy to take a look, I'd love some feedback. I've entered it for the Our Streets competition, but it's also going through intensive editing from my agents, and I'd be so grateful for comments, as well as likes and favourites if appropriate.

Fantastic, girl! Yes, you HAVE to write more. :-D

I wondered if you'd be interested in taking a look at my newest book, which I write under my other name (it's a very non-secret identity ;-) I'm hoping it'll be right up your street.

It's a historical thriller with two burning romances, in the form of a twisted love-triangle, at the centre. It's called The Butterfly Catchers and I've entered it for the Our Streets competiton. It's also undergoing edits with my agents and I'd therefore love, love, love as much feedback as possible:

Obviously any likes and favourites are also hugely appreciated, but only if you would like to. :-)

Hey hey! I'm mid-way through a fantasy story which was inspired by a fair at the park down the street where I used to live, and goes on to feature the bookshops on it, etc. OK if I enter it? It's unusual I have something I'm already doing which fits the competition brief... ;-)
