6. The Secret Castle-Part Six

Harry Potter grabbed his glasses from the red desk, and put them on. Hedwig, his owl, was holding a letter in her beak. "Thank you", Harry said. The owl flew out of the open window, and disappeared. Ron's owl, Errol, flew into the window. "Errol!", he yelled. The letter read: "Take care Harry for the school year. Beware of Professor Snape", signed Molly Weasley. Harry smiled. He and Ron then headed out of the Gryffindor dormitory and walked downstairs to the Slytherin dungeon for the Potions class.

"You're late again, Potter, Weasley. Ten points off Gryffindor house", Snape said coldly. Draco Malfoy smirked. "He's never is on time, Professor Snape", he said. Harry glared at the Slytherin student. "That maybe true, Malfoy, but I shall punish Potter myself. Five points off Slytherin House for insolence". Malfoy gasped, then remained staring at the black cauldrons on the silver tables. Snape, who wore a black cloak, never taught Defence Against the Dark Arts. He blamed Professor Albus Dumbledore since he finished his seven year stint at Hogwarts a long time ago, in the late nineteen fifties, and early nineteen sixties. As a result, he became the Hogwarts Potions Teacher since the late nineteen seventies to the late nineteen nineties. Hermoine said: "Professor, I read about Potions for Young Wizards-Year One....". Snape grinned maliciously. "Ten points off Gryffindor House for being too smart. Now, can you tell me the difference between black roots from a plant and wood rot?", he asked. Harry put his right hand up. "Black roots can affect the trunks of the trees; wood rot wastes away the trees like from disease", he answered. Snape gasped in shock. "You're lucky, Potter. Fifty points to Gryffindor House", he answered. As the wizards worked on their bubbling potions, the bell rang for the end of the class. "Everyone is dismissed!", Snape yelled. And, as everyone left the dungeons, (except for the Slytherin wizards), Harry Potter was pleased that he belonged at Hogwarts.
