Fire's Promise [Ashes of the Ylan #1] [A Rama Empire novel]

"I thought you'd kill me," she croaked. "Not much honour if you cannot keep your promises."

Within the world of Convergera, lies the lands of Rama. Though the Rama Empire has long since been disbanded, the Capital still stands as a symbol of prosperity. The Antirian wars are over, but peace is soon disturbed as disaster strikes.

Sarashi is raised on the Wild Plains, but in a culture where freedom is everything, she is tied down by fear and expectations. Her people wants her to embrace her mother's legacy, her own fury screams for vengeance and her heart aches to belong. But when the war between the Sapphire Empire and the people of Rama flares up again, she'll have to make a choice between what she wants, and what is expected of her.

"Both standing on two legs, eyes level, the lion tried to push her into the ground. Her heart beat like never before as it stretched its neck over the spear to reach her face with its teeth. Pain made her dizzy as she growled back, a fiery rage star

The Rama Empire is a group of lands in a world created by G. Talmont and the novels feature stories of the Ramas' history and the evolution of their culture and their kingdoms. They lay within the world of Convergera.

Ashes of the Ylan is the first published story within the collection, and is split in two parts; beginning in Fire's Promise and ending in Fire's Path.

Ashes of the Ylan covers events from the years 1239-1257 post Craft Plague. (Not including the story's Prologue and Epilogue)

Ashes of the Ylan by G. Talmont

"I thought you'd kill me," she croaked. "Not much honour if you cannot keep your promises."

Within the world of Convergera, lies the lands of Rama. Though the Rama Empire has long since been disbanded, the Capital still stands as a symbol of prosperity. The Antirian wars are over, but peace is soon disturbed as the Sapphire Empire of Cahl attacks to the south east.

Sarashi, the last of her kin, is raised on the Wild Plains, but in a culture where freedom is everything, she is tied down by fear and expectations. Honour demands she avenge her parents, duty that she claims her title and heritage, but both will cost her the chance of a peaceful life. A choice has to be made.

"Both standing on two legs, eyes level, the lion tried to push her into the ground. Her heart beat like never before as it stretched its neck over the spear to reach her face with its teeth. Pain made her dizzy as she growled back, a fiery rage starting to burn in the pit of her stomach.

She, the last of the Enshiras, would not die here. She would not die, not without killing Tiburon Namur. Not without avenging her family.

She would not be killed here. "

To my readers:

This book is for those who watch society

not from within, but without,

not with blind faith, but an open mind.
