2. The greetings // Basics 1

In Holland you greet someone with a simple "Hello" if you know the person. If you don't just say "Nice to meet you!"

If you know the person you greet them with a hello, in Dutch you say:

"Hallo"

If you don't, shake their hand and say your name, then say nice to meet you.

*Shake hand* "Mijn naam is (name) . Leuk om je te ontmoeten.

If you pass a stranger who you want to ask something say goodday.

"Goeden- morgen (if its morning) - middag (if its midday) - avond (if its evening)"

If you want to add sir or ms just like : "Goodday ms." just do:

"Goeden- morgen (if its morning) - middag (If its midday) - avond (If its evening) + mevrouw (ms) - meneer (sir)."
