2. Cross Your Heart

Cross your heart and hope to die.
Stick a thousand needles in my eyes,
Should I prove false, cast me aside.
If I prove true, in your arms I stay.

I gazed 'pon my soldier true,
His words casting a spell of love.
True he must be, for I chose him.
True he must be, to gaze upon one such as me.

Cross your heart
He sang and sang till I let him in.
Never shall I die
He whispered as he held my hand.
Curse me with blindness
He urged as he combed my hair.
Never shall I falter
He promised as he left my tower.

Please be true.
Please be brave.
Show me what it is to love,
You created the curse to bind you to me.
I shall give it life as you wished.

The moon rise and set,
The seasons came and left.
Days turned into months,
And still he came.

Love only you I shall

He whispered holding another in his heart.

I shall enterally visit.

He sang as he plotted his last.

Let me hold you always

He lied as he bid goodbye.

You are my dream

He called as he rode off.

Tears streaked the witches cheeks.

She heard the truth within his lies.

Her brave, sweet soldier was gone,

A lying snake in his place.

Cross his heart and hope to die

She sang as she left her tower.

A thousand needles in his eyes

She whispered as she prepared herself.

Proved false into the flames

She cried as she found him.

Only mine shall he always be

She yelled, he in the arms of another.

Fear shine in his eyes

He tried too late to hide his other.

The once good witch reached for him,

Her goodness falling to ash

Only dark remained in her heart.

Her touch froze him still,

Close she drew him

Singing the promise he once made.

Cross your heart and hope to die.
Stick a thousand needles in my eyes,
Should I prove false, cast me aside.
If I prove true, in your arms I stay.

And with each word the curse took hold.

Her soldier whished for death,

Her soldier became blind for all to see,

He was casted away into a cage,

Never to be held again.

Never betray a witch

He told all who turned his way.

Never love a witch

He cried as days turned to weeks

Never lie to one who loves

He whispered as weeks turned to months.

Please forgive me

He begged as months turned to years.

The witch watched it all,

A smile on her face.

My brave solider is here with me

There is only I in his eyes.

He saw only I before he was blinded

He felt only I before he was caged.

Only I shall he hear in his lasts.

Only I shall he truly love.

What is a man but twisted and broken?

He loved me once, he'll love me once more.

Until death will I watch,

My soldier who crossed his heart to me.
