Poem Pieces

These poem pieces tell a story, my story. A hidden darkness only written words will ever know.

36. Third Person Painting

I stand in a gallery of my fractured history
An outsider looking in at a painting shrouded in mystery

A video game played in third person
What's the genre, that's none of your concern

Half a year of deceptive gameplay
All felt and experienced within a single day

A paintbrush without bristles
An image littered with thistles

Glass that looks one way through
Oh, the things I could never do

I moved unnoticed, yet I saw
The past lay still, a thing I tore

Superstitious number, one age down
So cliche, smile from frown
