Jessica Frost: Daughter of a Guardian

Jessica Frost is the half-demon daughter of Jack Frost. She has white hair flowing to the middle of her back, striking blue eyes, and a naughty attitude. When she is chosen as the next Guardian, she is shocked as to why and what Guardian she has been chosen as.

8. Killing Is In The Blood

She looked up, and everyone is staring at her.

"What happened?" Tooth asked. "You looked mad, like you were going to punch a wall."

She quickly dropped the tooth box as though it were a vial of poison.

"Jess?" Jack asked, concerned.

He went towards her and said, "What's wrong?"

She looked at him  and said, "I had a father, and a mother!"

"What happened?"

"My other father, he must have been drinking because he comes out of the house with a knife in his hand, my friend and I run, and on the pond, he catches up to us, and he grabs me and stabs me. I'm still alive, I call to her, 'Run, don't come back!' She runs, I'm stabbed again. I stab him back, and I kill him. The ice cracks under me and gives way, and I die of blood loss and drown."

Jack didn't say anything.

"I know my center."

"What is it?"

"Death, killing. That's my center."

North tossed Jessica something. It was a little doll, like the one he'd tossed Jack. It showed Jessica, with a scythe in one hand and a white ball in the other.

Jack then asked, "Can I see?"

She gave it to him.

"Jess, this can't be you. You're not a killer."

"Actually, I am."

She then turned away, not wanting to look at him, because she didn't want to see his reaction to what she was about to say.

"I'd rather not tell you, because I KNOW you're not going to see me the same way again."

"I'll still see you the same way, Jess. You don't have to tell me."

"I feel like if I tell you, I'LL be the bad guy. I don't want that."

"You don't have to say anything, Jess. I'm just trying to figure out how your center is death, killing. How it got this way. I don't know. But I want to."

"Trust me. You don't," Jessica replied.

"Jess, if you don't want to tell me, you don't have to tell me."

"I might as well, otherwise this will never make sense to you."

Jack leaned back against the wall and waited.

"I kill for fun."

Jack was silent for a moment. Then he said, "What do you mean?"

"Haven't you noticed the bodies lying around in Burgess, as though it were a massacre, mostly at night? The police are calling the killer the Night Stalker."

"Yeah, I read about that."

"I'm that killer," Jessica said.
