2. The party in Arizona-Part Two

Janie stared at the attic. She opened it. When the old grey ladder fell downward in the hallway, she backed away. Then she walked upstairs to the ancient attic that was full of chairs that were covered in white blankets. She saw a lever that was to her left. Once everything was stable, she saw a lot of cobwebs that were across the rafters; she ignored them, and walked towards the chairs. There were an bequeathed to her family by her Grandparents in 1989 before they died of natural causes in the hot summer's night of June of that year when they were seventy-nine. Suddenly she saw a grey blanket was in the far, right, corner of the scary looking attic. Janie removed it. Then she saw a black mirror that was hidden away into the abyss; she shuddered in growing horror. As she stared at it, the old glass shimmered as if by dark magic; the glass then swirled and swirled. Then, seconds later, claws came out of the mirror...and scratched her hands. "Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!", Janie yelled. Some blood from her wounds seeped downward. And then she collapsed on the hard ground...and drifted into unconsciousness.

One hour later....

Time seemed slower for Janie. She opened her eyes. She walked away from The Mirror. It was cursed!, she thought to herself; it was cursed!...and she took down the lever with her left hand; she walked down the stairs. She rushed towards the First Aid Kit that was in the old kitchen. After she opened the white door, she grabbed the kit with her left hand; she unzipped the kit. Then she applied bandages across her hands. Then she felt calmer than before. Janie couldn't believe that her parents had such a dangerous mirror in her house. They never mentioned it to her when they moved into the house in the cold, winter's night in December of that year. Then she saw the watch on her left hand. It was 5:06 PM. She shook her head. Suddenly she ordered pizza, garlic bread, and Pepsi Max drinks on the app. Then she waited for the guests to arrive.

Juanita Shapiro knocked on the front door. The Spanish-American cheerleader knocked on the front door. Janie opened the front door tentatively. She saw the eighteen year old teenager, who majored in dance and sports, glanced at her friend's hands with a look of concern on her face. "What happened, Janie? It looks like you were burned by...", she begun to say. "I was looking at the Mirror in the haunted attic...and I burned myself smoking", she answered her. "You smoke? God, I need one now", Juanita stated. Janie laughed. "No, I was joking. Smoking causes cancer". Juanita nodded. "Good for you. I knew you too well to smoke. Now, can I have a drink of Coke?", she asked her. "Sure", Janie said.

And she smiled.

Janie saw the guests. Bryan Dobbs, sixteen-A basketballer; Hilary Kane, seventeen-A cheerleader; Eve Wake, fifteen-A writer; and Charles Ives-An African-American fraternity member of Phi Kappa Phi-seventeen. Janie smiled at them. "Good evening. Please come inside!", she said. "What happened to your hands, Janie?", Eve asked her. "Stupid accident in the attic that concerned the mirror", she answered her. "What kind of mirror?", Charles asked her. "I think it's been used in séances". Charles nodded. "Mirrors are used for good...or evil". He didn't mince his words as he saw the dim hallway. He stopped. "The Mirror is upstairs. Be careful", Janie warned him. Charles, who stood 6'2", nodded. The ladder was down. A cold breeze wafted across his face. Charles looked at the darkness. He saw the edge of the attic. When he saw the chairs...he shuddered. Seconds later, he saw the mirror. He stared into it. Seconds later, nothing happened...yet. Before he could utter another sound, he watched the chairs moving back and forth...back and forth. Then, as the temperature decreased to 46 degrees, he shivered as claws came out of the mirror...and he screamed in horror. He fled the attic. Then, as he walked downstairs, Janie asked: "What happened, Charles?". "Something is inside the mirror. I think it's demonic". Janie nodded. She was about to speak when there was a ring on her doorbell. She saw a man in his twenties getting out of the Arizona Pizza car. She then signed for the dinner...and she felt the surge of pain in her hands. "Hey! Are you alright? You should go to the Hospital". And she nodded. "Tomorrow if the pain gets bad". And she waved at him...and she watched him drive away down the brightly-lit driveway towards the pizza shop on Clements Road in Arizona.

Juanita, Janie, Charles, Eve, Hilary, and Bryan, ate their dinner. By seven o'clock PM, they cleaned the dishes, and glasses up. When everything was done, Janie smiled. "Thank you for coming. I know it's been bad at the beginning, but I'm sure that it's going to be fine". And the teenagers cheered, as they enjoyed listening to the Internet radio until ten-thirty PM.
