Maddy's POV

I woke up to the annoying sound of my stupid alarm as I hit it off my nightstand. I slowly got up and took a shower. After, I got dressed in a short, but simple dress with boots. I brushed my hair but left it alone. I trudged down the stairs and got my breakfast. I sat at the table on my phone until I heard a horn outside. It was Elanna. I grabbed my back and ran out the door, making sure that I had my keys because nobody was going to be home to let me in when I "tutored" Jake later today. I opened the door to Elanna's car and she whistled.

"Girl, who you lookin' good for today?" I laughed.

"I was just too lazy to match a shirt and a pair of pants." she snorted like 'yeah right' and we headed to school. Before I could even put two feet on the ground once I got out of the car, I was immediately swept off my feet by Jake.

"Oh my god," I laughed as he put me down.

"Good morning, princess." He bent down to kiss me as I stood on my tip-toes. He was 6'2 and I was 5'5. Elanna nudged her way in between us and linked arms with both me and Jake. She skipped to her first class besides our protests for her to let us go, but we both couldn't stop laughing. She let go once she got to her locker. We all went to our first period. Elanna started to walk down the hall, though.

"Where are you going? I asked.

"Oh yeah, uh for some reason the office changed my schedule. All my classes are the same except for my first period. I had to switch with some other kid, I think. I'll see you in history, though. Bye!" she said as she ran to her new class. I wonder who it is, I thought. Jake and I walked into the door as soon as the bell rang and took our seats. I stared at the empty chair next to me and then looked round the room. I then realized that it was the only empty chair in the room, meaning that the new kid would have to sit next me. Please be someone I like, I repeated in my head over and over again as that certain person walked through the door. Guess who it was? Fucking Max. Just my luck, I thought. His family is rich so I bet he bribed the office to switch classes. I'm just surprised that he switched with Elanna and not Jake.

"Hello Ms. Jones," he greeted the teacher sweetly. He is so two-faced. "I'm new to the class. Where would you like me to sit?" he asked her even though it was obvious where he would have to end up.

"Oh, hello. Right next to Maddy will be just fine. Maddy raise your hand, darling." I refused to do it.

"It's ok. I know very well who Maddy is." he said sneakily as he made his way to his new seat.

"You want to switch seats with me?" Jake asked. I took a deep breath.

"Thank you, but no actually. I need to learn to deal with him." Jake nodded. Max took his seat and was silent. After a couple minutes, I could tell that Max kept looking at me. I guess Jake noticed too, so he put his arm around me and glared at Max. He held up his hands in defense. He always tried to act all nice and innocent around Jake so that he wouldn't beat the crap out of him. Even though Jake's grades weren't good, lots of teachers from last year still love him. Sometimes they'll pull him out of class so that he could help with their freshman classes. That's probably why he's falling behind. Anyways, one of the teachers came and got him in the middle of our lecture. Before he went, he whispered something to Max. His eyes got wide and he didn't bother me the rest or the hour and a half. When I met up with Jake, I asked him what he had told Max.

"I just told him that if he even thought about touching you I would kick his ass so hard he'd be out of school for a month." I raised my eyebrows in surprise.

"I am very protective over my babygirl." That made me blush. He stopped in his tracks and pulled me into the bathroom.

"I have an idea. How about we just go study at your house now?"

"And ditch school? With your grades?" I said disapprovingly.

"Don't take that tone with me," he said as he backed me up against the wall.

"What are you gonna do about it?" I asked him. He got close to my face.

"What do you want me to do, babe?" he got closer. I closed my eyes in anticipation of a kiss, but it never came. I opened my eyes to see him smirking. I glared.

"Fine. But just today."

"Yay!" he said and grabbed my hand as he dragged me to his car. "You're such a dork," I said as I laughed and he opened the door for me. We drove to my house, and I had thankfully remembered our backpacks. I unlocked the front door to my house and we walked in. As soon as I shut the door, Jake kissed me. I kissed back but soon pulled away and walked to the couch.

"Hey!" he protested.

"You're not gettin' anything until you study."

"Fine." We studied for about 20 minutes. Eventually, Jake put his head in his hands.

"I can't do this." I rubbed his back up and down.

"Yes you can. It will just take a couple weeks." I smiled because I had an idea.

"How 'bout we take a break?" His head shot up.

"Do you even have to ask," he said as he pushed me down onto the couch and kissed me forcefully. His hand gripped my waist as his masculine frame hovered over my feminine one. My hands ran through his hair and he let out a low, quiet moan. He kissed my cheek, and then down my neck. He bit down earning a moan from me. Then my phone rang.

"Are you fucking kidding me," I said out loud. We hadn't been alone for a long time and now someone was calling me.

"Just ignore it," Jake said between kisses. We went back to making out and I ignored my phone the first three times but had to pick it up on the fourth time it rang.

"What?" I snapped into the phone. It was my older brother.

"Why didn't you pick up the first three times I called?" he asked.

"None of your damn business. Why the hell are you even calling me?" My brother and I were not on good terms right now. A couple months ago he had purposely wrecked his truck while one of my closest friends that I had known since birth, Julia, was in his truck. He survived with severe injuries but Julia had passed away. My brother is a little messed up in the head, not to mention a murderer.

"I was just checking in on you." he lied.

"Like hell you were, Josh. I've heard enough bullshit from you to know when you're lying." I hung up and slammed my phone on the table.

"Josh?" Jake asked. I nodded and layed my head down on his lap as I hugged his torso. He ran his fingers through my hair.

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault he's a psychopath." He tried to give me a reassuring smile as he put the TV on to distract me. We watched Law and Order and Modern Family for a while. He even ordered pizza. A single call or reminder of my older brother can ruin my day completely. I pray every night that my three other siblings don't end up like him. Jake had started to make me laugh again.

"Co-come on J-Jake!" I said as he tickled me. The front door opened but neither of us had heard it.

"Jakey!" My 4 year old sister, Samantha, yelled when she saw him. She loved Jake. He took a break from tickling me and picked her up and spun her around.

"Hey Sam. I haven't seen you in a while, huh?" She nodded and smiled at him, showing him her new missing tooth. My other sister, Kylie, who was 9 years old was at her friends house for the next week so she could go to cheer camp. Kylie's twin brother, Shaun, was at a friends house, also. Jake put her down and she ran to the kitchen to get a snack.

"Well, I guess that means your dad's home."

"Oh god," I whispered. My dad didn't hate Jake, but he didn't really like him. Like at all. My dad walked in the house and locked eyes with Jake. He didn't say a word, he just followed Sam into the kitchen.

"Well I guess that's my queue to go,"

"Noooooo," I said as I pulled him back down onto the couch with me. I didn't care whether or not my dad liked him.

"I have to babe. I'll see you tomorrow. Thanks for the help, though," he said as he bent down to kiss me passionately right in front of my dad. Once he left I ignored my fathers disapproving glance and jogged upstairs. Hopefully one day my dad will learn to love him just like I do.
