THE RACE REACHES THE CLIMAX AND BOTH IAN AND ALAN ARE SHOUTING FOR THEIR HORSES AS THEY RUN DOWN TO THE FINISH.

 

LARRY:

‘My hhhorse is going to wwin tthis.’

 

DICK:

‘You said you hadn’t backed one in this race.’

 

LARRY:

‘I didn’t ssay anything of tthe kind,’ I’ve got nnnumber six.’

 

DICK:

‘What’s that then?

 

LARRY:

‘Chanterelle, its ttwelve to one.’

 

DICK:

‘It’s got as much chance as I have of taking Julie home tonight.’

 

JUST THEN THE ANNOUNCER COMES ON TO SAY THERE IS A PHOTO FINISH BETWEEN NIGHT FIGHTER AND CHANTERELLE.

 

ALAN:

‘I think I’ve nicked this one Larry.’

 

LARRY:

‘Just hhhold your water Alan.’

 

 

EVERYONE IS GLUED TO THE SET AS THEY WAIT FOR THE RESULT.
