Falling Deeper//Colby Brock

Chelsea Banks just moved to Los Angeles, California. She was never excited to move away from her small town in Southern Illinois to a big city. But from meeting her new neighbors, maybe moving won't be as bad as she thought it would.

3. Chapter 3

I get home and see my mom making some breakfast. "Hey sweetie, need to eat?" she asks smiling. "Um, yeah." I say and sit at the island in the kitchen. "How was your run? See the city?" she asks putting a pancake on my plate. "Yeah, some of it." I say back looking down at the plate. "Meet anyone?" she asks. "Just a guy who is also our neighbor." I roll my eyes. "Well, isn't that good?" she says putting her hands on her hips. "I guess." I sigh and start to eat.

I go to my room and head to the balcony. I grab my guitar and start to play some Ed Sheeran since he was my favorite singer right now. I play Give Me Love which was also my favorite song. I end up singing along too, and that's when I hear clapping from the ground below me.

I set my guitar down and look at the ground. I was surprised to see who it was. It was Colby. What was he doing here? Did he hear me? "You are amazing at singing and playing." he says stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Thanks?" I say leaning against the railing. "What are you doing here?" I puzzled. "Came to see you of course, we just had such a good talk, and I knew you just moved here, and wondered if you wanted to hang out." he beamed looking up at me. "Oh, well. Okay." I smile and head downstairs.

I open the door and see him already at the door. "Would you like to come in?" I ask moving off to the side. "Sure." he said walking in immediately. He was definitely the type of guy that was cool with everything. "Welcome then to my home." I say closing the door. "Cool cool. Kinda looks like mine." he says walking around a little. "I would think since all of these houses look kinda the same." I laughed.

We sit on the couch just talking now about our lives. "So, you used to live in Southern Illinois?" he asks surprised. "Yup." I say popping the p. "I came from Kansas. Not as interesting." he joked making me smile. "I don't know, both of them are pretty bad." I say and he agrees.

By the end of the day, I felt like Colby and I have been friends for years, which was weird. I never let anyone in, and especially someone I just met a few hours ago. But, something about him made me feel like I could tell him anything. "I should probably go." he says standing up. "Oh, okay." I say and we walk to the door.

"Wait, can I get your number?" Colby asks turning towards me. "Um, yeah." I blurted out. He looks at me and smiles. Dang, maybe I shouldn't have answered so quickly. I hand him my phone and he hands me his. We exchange numbers and hand each other back our phones. "I'll talk to you later." he says and I nod. He walks out and I close the door behind him.

I go to my room and see him walk back to his own house. He turns around, sees me, and waves slightly. I blush a little and wave back. It looked like he laughed and headed inside the gate. I embarrass myself way to much.
