The Woman In Black

"Without the darkness of the night, we wouldn't see the dead and bright stars"

We all believed, traditionally, that darkness was meant as a warning, to not cross the danger, to stay away from the evil spirits. But should we blame the darkness for it?

"Dear friend, she wasn't ugly at all. On the opposite, her beautiful face couldn't be compared, only to the bright moon on a starry bright night." The king chimed out, his mind spacing out to the moment he took off her hood in mockery just to be met with a beautiful face.

"If I may be excused, I came her to accomplish your request, not talk about nonsense. Now, I have to go back to work." The elegant man stood up and said before he just walked out of the big room, closing the door behind him.

He may be is a childhood friend of the king and knows him better than anyone else, but he wasn't content that his friend is doing all of this. Kings don't usually slack off like he is doing now. The man still doesn't believe how he was crowned as a king for the country even thought he isn't even married, nor having any woman set in his heart.

As he walked downstairs, he could see the new maids either winking at him or whispering about him and giggling. He was a fine rich man, but he hated all of that.

when he got out of the castle, he hoped on his dark horse, riding it towards home. He hated acting all rich in front of people, he hates how arrogant the king is, but he had no choice; the king was his childhood friend after all.

Upon reaching home, he unlocked the door and got in, closing it after entering the house. Turning around, he was met with his little sister colliding with his leg. His sister definitely likes bumping into things, that is for sure. He hugged her back as a smile planted on both of them.

"So, did you find her, big brother?" The little girl chirped in curiosity, waiting for the answer of her big brother.

"No, sweety, I still didn't. But I'm trying my best." The older brother answered back, holding his sister's hand and walking inside the living room to rest. He looked outside the window the spot the blue sky still the same while sun is still in her position from the last time.

Days passed and a lot of terror occurred around the village. People started fainting from lack of sleep while a lot of animals died too, people got sick and had to suffer too much rather than die peacefully and forget about their pain, the heat made all the plants die so it was lacking food around the village, no drop of rain was seen or placed on earth. It was all quiet, yet all saddening. Even the king was in a disastrous mood himself, his body can't handle it anymore since his Yang was forcing him too to stay awake and work on the movements of the sun.

People suffered everyday, just like the little sister of the rich man who got sick and still can't handle the pain nor can she sleep peacefully again. Sometimes, people got too much drunk so they won't get affected by the heat and problem in front of them, but that caused them to get unconscious for sometime. You can hear their cries of pain and sorrow as their brains are getting burnt from either the alcohol or the poison going around inside their body.

The owner of "The Land Of Heaven" started worrying about her two female friends who got drunk a lot last time and today, they are getting the same fate as the others. She turns a glance towards the shop she still owns, despite it being on the verge of shutting down. The flowers died inside her shop, making her business fail miserably. The only plant available and alive until now is the black rose that she took care of for the past few days. She is still trying to decide to either sail the rose or keep taking care of it too.

The village looks like it is burnt down which makes it worst for the king. Not only did he realise that this problem happened only in that village near his castle, but in the whole country of LandCoelum. The order he sent failed since the Yin he was waiting for didn't appear, making everything worse than before. It looked like the problem can be solved by one person.

Before he was gone, he told his short rich childhood friend to take care of the castle and kingdom while he was gone. He took some clothes and food with him before he was gone, on his horse, riding faster than ever towards the forest near the village. He knew where the sorceress lived and he desperately wanted her help.

Humanity depended on her spells.

Upon reaching the gates of the forest, a chill ran down his spine. He was unfamiliar with this forest, but he heard that her cottage was somewhere deep in this forest. Without hesitation, he rode his white horse inside, trying to be conscious as best for any weird creature lurking around. He went deeper into the forest, finally reaching the dark wooden house of hers.

He went down from his horse, tying him into a tree, then advantaged towards the door. He took in a breath then let out another before he slowly knocked on the door.

Minutes passed before the door opened and he was met with the same beautiful face that lurked his mind for the past days, since that accident happened. Her cloak was nowhere to be found on her body, only her bangs tied backwardly while her hair was freely down and her green eyes sparkling like the moonlight. Her clothes were composed of a black weird looking, yet still revealing, suit with black boots and the black gloves are still on.

"Good afternoon." She said as she bowed her head a little, a sign of respect from her point before stepping aside and letting him enter the small house. He did while looking around the small house, noticing how it is. She walked her way towards the small creepy sofa in the living room and sat down, from his part following her inside and sitting down.

"May I ask what brings the king to my house?" Even from her sweet voice, you can hear the hint of gracefulness and elegance she holds. He held in a breath, not only getting affected by her beautiful face and body but also her voice.

"I came in here to solve everything that happened around the village. As you may noticed, the sky stood on a stable state with the sun only and always in the middle of the sky. We're all lacking sleep, the night, the rain. We're lacking the element of darkness that the Yin is supposed to have. But since they quit their job or something, I've come to you to ask for a small favour; Could you pull a spell so you can return the Yin powers back to normal?" The king asked desperately, clutching the hands of the dark witch, who took the gesture by surprise and backed off herself.

"Ask The Yin." Her answer was quick and short, but had a lot of sense.

"We can't, we don't know who is the Yin of LandCoelum and we tried to find him but couldn't. We even promised who finds him gets something from us, anything. We just want to save the kingdom." The king replied back with desperate but tired voice. He was completely drained out from this problem and all he wanted was to rest. He just realised how cold her hands were.
