The yacht was not far off where he moored her. David steered her expertly into the harbour as Cassie Joined him. The yacht came to an abrupt halt and David jumped ashore and tied her up securely. Cassie brought out the rubbish and emptied it into one of the many bins before walking back to the car with David this time they walked apart and it was apparent that Cassie was afraid to take his hand because she feared that someone might recognise her.

“Are you okay Cassie?’

“No not really, I’m sorry, I don’t want to be like Sandy.’ You know sneaking around.’

“It won’t be long Cassie before we are together for good. Once your divorce comes through I’m going to marry you.’ I’ve waited so long for you and I’m not letting you go now.’

David walked to the car and opened the door for her and she got inside. They drove to her house in relative silence.’

“We don’t have to do this you know, I mean… we can just go back to our miserable little lives.’

David I’m sorry, please forgive me but you don’t know Sandy and what he’s capable of.’

“I don’t care Cassie, I want you and I won’t let that bully hurt you anymore.’

“He’s dangerous David, I would say even psychotic at times. His eyes become full of hatred, he scares me.’

“You have to leave him and the sooner you do it the better.’

“I cannot leave him without an explanation.’

“Let your solicitor deal with it; it may become confrontational if you tell him to his face.

“Yes, you are right.’

David drove her back to her house and he went inside with her whilst she changed.

Help yourself to a drink if you want one David, I won’t be long I promise.’

David looked at the photos of her parents and there was one of Sandy and Cassie on their wedding day. He looked a big powerful man; well over 250 pounds. His blond hair was cut short and he looked like he’d played rugby going by the size of his shoulders and biceps. He looked at his wife in a possessive manner, there was almost fear in the eyes of his bride. He would have to be on his guard against this man. He asked Cassie if she wanted a coffee as he was about to go and fill a kettle.’

“Yes thanks, there’s a coffee machine next to the microwave in the kitchen.’

He walked inside and switched on the coffee machine and it made coffee in a few minutes. He searched for milk and sugar and then two coffee mugs. Ten minutes later Cassie came down in a pair of casual trousers and a red blouse. She’d tied her hair up again which showed the long slender nape of her neck. There was three button’s open of her blouse and David could see that she was wearing a black bra. “I thought I’d wait until you came down before pouring the coffee.’

“That’s alright.’

“I’ve been looking at your photos actually, you look the double of your mother on them.’

“Yes, many people remind me that I look like my mother.’
