50. 50

They talked all the way there and back and Cassie had never talked so much in one day. In fact she could remember talking this much too sandy in the whole of her married life. David was so attentive and complimentary. He appreciated her in ways her husband never did. She thought back to the last time they’d made love, if you could call it that Sandy never considered her at all.

Sandy was only after his own sexual gratification and it left her feeling used and totally frustrated. He was also rough with her during sex. He wanted to do things to her she wasn’t happy about and when she refused he would slap her and call her a bitch. He withdrew from her and they hadn’t been together for over six months. She was sure that he was going to see a prostitute as she had found cards from escort agencies in his pockets whilst washing his clothes. She went into the garage and found magazines with women being violated and tied up. She was sure he was trying to act out his fantasies on her. It got to the point where he made her take the pill in front of him because he was terrified that she would become pregnant because in his mind all her affections would go on the child. Cassie wanted to tell David, she wanted to pour out her heart to him because he was the only man who she felt she could truly confide in. he understood her but she thought that it was too soon yet. She would wait, she didn’t want to alienate their friendship by bombarding him with all of her personal problems.’ When they got back to the car Cassie put her shoes back on. David drove her home then got out and let her out.’

“Would you like to come in for a coffee David?’

“Not tonight Cassie; another time perhaps.’ I think you’ve had a little too much wine.’

“I will pick you up at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.’

Thank you for a wonderful evening; in fact a wonderful day.’ I’ve never had as much fun for a long time. She came up to David and kissed him softly on the cheek and it took all David’s powers of restraint to stop himself from taking her in his arms. Again he waited until she was in doors before driving away.

He knew one thing and that he was still hopelessly in love with her. The schoolboy crush he had for her then was now stronger than that; he loved her with every part of his being.
