“That would be nice, when can you come again.’

“How about next Wednesday say at the same time?’

David pulled out a card with his name address and telephone number on it then wrote on the back his personal secretary’s number in case he couldn’t be reached.’

“I see you now live in Jesmond.’

“Yes, it’s alright, too big for one person though.’

“So where are you living these days Cassie?’

“I live on Roxborough Terrace in Whitley bay.’

“Can I offer you a lift after we’ve finished.’

“Its fine David, I can easily catch a bus.’

“I won’t hear of it; my car isn’t far away.’

Thank you, you’re so kind.’

“Anything for a school friend.’

David paid the bill then grabbed all of the shopping bags that Cassie was carrying. He even held the door for her so she could walk out.’

David eyed the tall auburn haired woman as she walked out of the cafe with poise and grace down the mall to where there was an exit that led to the Haymarket. He noticed her shapely legs and her trim waistline in the blue coloured suit she was wearing. She wore blue suede coloured high heels. You would not have taken her for thirty two, she looked ten years younger. There wasn’t a wrinkle or line on her face. Her green eyes sparkled as she turned and looked at him then gave him a smile with a near perfect set of teeth. He was attracted to her alright, he had been ever since they were in school together. Walking along he felt like a schoolboy once more and he was lost in her eyes as they crossed the road and walked up onto Victoria Road. He stopped outside of a blue coloured Jaguar and opened the boot and placed Cassie’s bags inside. He opened the door for her then she slid into the soft leather seats. There was a lovely smell inside the car like lavender flowers as David got in and then fastened his safety belt. Cassie had trouble with her belt and David asked if he could help He leaned across and took hold of the belt. He looked into her beautiful face as he pushed the metal piece until it clicked.

“There we are all set. David started the car and released the hand brake then slowly drove off.’

So Cassie what do you do with yourself of an evening?’

“Not a lot really, Sandy works away a lot.’

“What does he do?’

“He’s a steel inspector on the oil rigs.’ He works four weeks on then four weeks off.’

“Does he not take you out?’

Sandy likes to play golf and is out every morning playing 36 holes with his friends.’

“Don’t you mind him playing golf every day?’
