Listen Tim, there’s something you should know.’

“What more surprises?’

“Our mother died on Friday morning; she was living out here in Ibiza did you know?’

“No I didn’t; it has been a long time since I’ve seen her Laura.’ It was over twenty years ago now.

“I think she came out here to find you.’ Maybe she was too afraid to come and see you.

It’s funny you saying that because the boys said that a woman gave them some money a few times when they were younger and presents would arrive at Christmas but with no card or anything.

“Where was she living?’

“Not far from here.’

There was a sadness in Timothy’s eyes, as he said all those years have been wasted. I could have gotten to know my mother better and my kids their grandmother.

The funeral is taking place next week in England and thought you and your family would like to attend.

“Yes,’ we would of course.’

“I’ve brought photos that you can look at and if there is any that you want to keep please feel free.

“Let’s go inside please. “We have lots to talk about.’

“By the way this is my son Bobby; I adopted him after I lost a child due to a miscarriage and had to have a hysterectomy.’

“Isn’t it ironic that your mother gave me up for adoption and you adopted a son?’

Tim put out his hand and Bobby shook it, then Tim put his arm around his sister and they walked into the house.

“Conchetta darling, come here there’s someone who I’d like you to meet.’

The beautiful looking Spanish woman came out as Timothy introduced his sister to his wife and told his sons that they now had an Aunt Laura. All the boys hugged Laura who was completely overwhelmed. They had accepted her without question. All afternoon they talked and most of the evening too. The house that Tim had built himself was enormous.

“You will stay tonight won’t you, I mean we have just found one another and I don’t plan on losing you now.’

“You won’t said Laura.’

“Do you mind if I ring my father. I’m sure he’d like to know about our mom. He never married you know after being shot down over Germany. I don’t think he ever got over losing our mother. He came home and lived with my grandparents until he got his false leg and then when he was pensioned off got a job working for the IRS. You want to see him now. You would never know he has a tin leg.

Timothy dialled the number and waited for an answer.’

Hi Dad its Tim you’d better sit down I have some bad news…
