They went inside where fabienne was pouring them a glass of wine. “Please sit.’ there are only boxes I’m afraid but I’m sure you have brought some furniture with you. We brought bowls and glasses so we could eat together. Fabienne served up the rabbit stew onto the bowls on a little table from the barn. Then gave them each a table spoon and some homemade French bread.

This is delicious said Harry and Susan.’

“You will find plenty of game to shoot on the land here. There is also some fruit trees to the south which I’m sure you can utilise.’

“When do you envisage bringing the animals?’

“Yes you are going to run it as a farm are you not?’

“Yes, but not animals Charles we plan to farm fish here.’

“Fish?’ we don’t understand.’

We plan to dig another lake and stock it with large carp from the Le Moulin Boutineau so people can come and fish here. The two barns will be used to breed the small fish where we plan to sell them all over the country.’ It is good business not only for us but for the village.’

“I see said fabienne.’

“Where can I get someone to dig out the lake around here Charles?’

“Why don’t you do it yourself and save yourselves money Harry; the farm comes with two working tractors.

“There is one with a scoop on the end so that you can excavate the land quite easily there is also two big trailers that were used for hay for the animals, the soil that you take out can be used on the site to build it up like an island. You are a carpenter are you not?’

“Yes, I am.’

Then you will have no problem building some wooden seats and pegs around the lakes.

Are there any fish in the lake?’

“I think there are small perch and some tench in there.’

“Tomorrow I will get a few of my friends to help you to dig the second lake; you will be busy making the pegs and seats around the lake so it will take less time. There are plenty of trees that you can adapt to make seating.’ The wood left you can use to heat water and keep the cottage warm in the winter.’

“That is so kind of you Charles, thank you.’ I will pay the men of course.’

“I will leave you to sort that out with them.’

They had drank two bottles of wine and didn’t feel the effects of it Charles and Fabienne left at midnight and told them if they needed anything just to ring. Harry gave Charles the Cheque for £15.000 pounds and Charles gave him the deeds to the property. He signed them and the farm was now officially theirs.
