She explained everything about the farm and her plans to develop it with Harry. Then she asked her father to loan her £15.000 pounds.’

“Fifteen grand Susan,’ that’s an awful lot of money darling.’

“Look daddy I know it is but I promise you will get the money back in full in our first summer. I have a good business acumen dad. I will explain everything and how it is going to work when I get back home.’ Harry is going to sell his shop so that will help us out too.

“Alright Susan we’ll discuss this in detail when you get home; bye for now.’

“Bye daddy.’

“What did he say?’

“Well he didn’t say that he wouldn’t loan us the money put it that way.’

“Come on let’s get a drink from the café.’

“I’m so excited Harry, I just hope that Monsieur Berger will lower his price.’

“What will happen if he won’t?’

“We will have to go to the bank and ask for a loan. The interest payments on three thousand pounds means we could end up paying at least seven back.’

In the café Harry held Susan’s hand and told her not to worry. “We will make this happen somehow.’ It would be a shame to let an opportunity like this slip away.

“Daddy will help me, I know he will Harry, he has never let me down before, This means so much for our future, I know it means moving to another country but we are not that far from the English coast and Mum and Dad can come and stay for a while once we get the business up and running. It will mean living on a tight budget I know but in the end it will be worth all the struggle.’

The hour and a half crossing went smoothly and they were soon back on the road again and heading for home.

The next morning Susan rang Harry at work he was loading the van when the phone rang he ran to answer it.

Susan’s voice sounded so excited as she answered.” We have it Harry, Paradis De Pecheurs is ours.’ Daddy did some smooth negotiations with Charles Berger and he accepted £15.000.’

“That’s wonderful news darling it means I can put the shop up for sale today.’ Look I’m out on a job now but I will call you when I get home okay.’

“I love you Harry.’

“I love you too, speak soon I must go and make us some money.’

Harry came into the shop and told Helen his partner the news.

“That’s great but what will become of the business here?’

“Well you could buy me out or I can put the shop up for sale.’
