The story focuses on three families. The Kinnear's, The Millsap's, and the Owen's. All different. They live very different lifestyles. Albert Kinnear the Librarian, who's parents came from Swindon but live in Pinetree Gardens, his father Jack is an engineer. He is a keen gardener and Pigeon fancier. Albert meets the daughter of Charlie and Elizabeth Millsap. They live on Kenton Road, in a bought property. He also is a pigeon man who has wangled his way into a chairman's job. he is a welder down the docks. No one is good enough for their daughter and they resent the relationship between Laura and Albert. Then there is William Owen(Willick) a roofing builder who lives in Cedarwood Avenue with two son's and a daughter. Alan is a jack the lad; he will sleep with any woman given the chance. Harry the youngest is a joiner and the brains in the family. Evelyn his daughter is twenty five and her father is pushing her to meet a man and get married so he can have grandchildren.

“Ex-champ now my friend; thanks’ for coming. Belinda told me that you stayed all night and through the morning until I’d regained consciousness.’

“You cannot keep a great champion down for long.’

Michael shook hands with Hector then pulled up a seat. They had removed the bandage from around his head but at the back there was a pad. They had shaved his head and they had drilled into his scull to remove the blood clot and the pressure upon his brain. Michael and Hector discussed the interview that would take place tomorrow and the suggestion from Belinda that they could do it from the hospital. That way neither of them would be in breach of contract.

“Don King would have a field day if we didn’t show.’

“He could talk the hind legs off a donkey that man.’

“I don’t understand all the Shakespearian mumbo jumbo that he talks but it makes him feel important said Hector.’

“Both Hector and Michael let out a laugh.’

“So we will do it from here yes, said Belinda hopefully.’

“I don’t see why not, if the hospital will allow it.’

“That won’t be a problem I assure you said Hector.’ They will just love the publicity.’

“Right then let’s do this.’

“Okay I will have words with Manny Stewart later on today and get it set up. Belinda will call you with the details and thank you again Michael for your understanding.’

“It was nothing, I’m just thankful that you are alright.’

“I will drop you back at your hotel Michael if you hold up a moment.’

Michael left the room to allow Belinda and her son to speak alone for a while.



Paul Tucker Grant and Norman were waiting outside of the hotel as Sofia Jackson stepped up to the car and Paul got out to let her in the front so she could direct them to her house. Sofia told them that she lived in Newark a quiet little suburb. Driving around it was noticeable that the locals were predominately black. There was a lot of tenement buildings and it was there that Sofia lived with her mother on 22nd Street. They lived on the fifth floor and there was no lift working. Norman was out of breath by the time they reached the door and Sofia knocked. Several locks were being opened from the inside as her mother opened the door after looking through the spy hole to see who was there. Norman was presently surprised when a beautiful looking woman opened the door. She was tall and shapely and had welcoming smile.

“Mother these are the gentlemen I was telling you about.’

“Please come in.’

Norman followed the young woman into the house, which was simply furnished. You could tell right off that they were by not well off. The sofa had a throw over it to cover a multitude of sins but the
