temperature rise dramatically. The bus turned left up Linskill terrace past the old Victorian terraced houses. The bus turned right past the School and then the golf course. It carried on into Tynemouth past front street and “The Land of Green Ginger.

He knew that in another ten minutes he would be at his stop and seeing the girl of his dreams.

He hadn’t stopped thinking about Susan Hedley since their first kiss and he hoped that he would kiss her again.

When the bus stopped outside of the Whitley bay swimming baths Harry got off and walked past the garage then to the pub and went inside to the restaurant area. Susan was sitting down at a table and she stood up when he came in and kissed him lightly on the lips.

Hi said Susan would you like to look at the menu?’

“I’ll buy us a drink, first what would you like?’

“Could I just have a coke?’

“That’s all I’m having, Harry went to the bar and bought the drinks then brought them over.’

“So how has your day been, same as normal none stop but at least I had something to look forward too.’

Harry picked up the menu and had a look through it.’

“Are you a fine dining man or do you like a nice cooked steak.’

“Well Susan, I was just about to ask you the same question he laughed. Personally I don’t go in for the novo cuisine. I much prefer a mixed grill and thickly cut chips.’

Susan smiled and said that they did a lovely mixed grill at the restaurant. She got up and went into the back to the kitchen and then returned and sat back down. “There it is done you will have the best mixed grill you’ve ever eaten. “By the way my father has your money, I know that you don’t drive so I will drop you off later on if that’s alright. It might be a bit risky walking around with three and a half thousand pounds in cash.’

“Thank you, I was going to get a taxi anyway Susan but if you could drop me then that would be great.’

“Have you been working all day?’

“Yes, we get pretty busy as I told you. I hope that you don’t mind me as I ran home and literally jumped into the shower then threw on these casual clothes.

“You look good to me said Harry.’

Shortly after they’d been sitting for a while a man approached and introduced himself as Peter Hedley. “I must commend you on the fantastic job that you have done on my kitchen. Pamela my wife is so pleased with it.’

“Well I’m glad she likes it.’

“If you leave us some fliers I will hand them out to people I know. I’m sure that you will get a steady influx of customers.

To be honest Peter I’m stowed off with work. I’m doing four of the smaller jobs a day.’
