“Sorry love I wasn’t thinking straight, I will square up with you later.’

“These were a gift from me David, I don’t want your money thank you very much.’

“Where did you put those training shoes that you bought Alex?’

“My God, I forgot to give you them yesterday Alex forgive me.’

David went to the passage and took out the football strip with the cap and trainer’s and gave them to Alex.

“Nike airmax, I like those thank you so much.’

“Why don’t you take a shower then you can change Alex.’

Alex went into the bathroom as Cassie put out his clean clothes including a pair of white sports socks. She noticed that Alex didn’t wear them.’

Alex spent fifteen minutes in the bathroom then came out with a towel wrapped around his slim body and went into the bedroom and changed into the new clothes. The white Lacoste tee shirt went well with the 501 jeans. He was just about to slip the training shoes onto his bare feet when he saw the socks and pulled them on. He stood up and looked at himself in the full length mirror. He placed the England team cap onto the tight curls of black hair on his head.

He walked out of the bedroom then picked up his old clothes he found a plastic bag and placed the old clothes inside. Cassie left them with the rest of the rubbish for the cleaners.

“Look at you said David as Alex came out onto the balcony.’

“Do you want a drink?’

“A coke would be nice thank you.’

“There’s some in the fridge just help yourself.’

Alex went to the fridge then took out a coke he opened the can then took a drink.

“There’s some ice if you’d like some said Cassie?’

“Thank you I’m fine.’

“We can go down and have a meal before we leave for the airport.’

“Can I ring my mother?’

“Alex there is no need to ask.’

Alex went and rang the restaurant he told his mother about all of his new clothes that Cassie had bought him in Mirandese the language of his parents and about his England football strip and new training shoes. “I even have socks.’

“They have been very generous son you must send her my thanks.’

“I will mother; we are going down for something to eat then we are driving to faro airport’ Tell father I will ring when we get to England. I love you mother.’

“I love you too son; be good won’t you and help Cassie and David as much as you can.’
