“Would you like drinks asked the young girl who was serving them.’

“Yes please, could I have a pot of tea please and a large jug of ice water

The girl disappeared into the kitchen.

The restaurant played soft music as young and old sat at the tables enjoying their food. Many brought their children to the restaurant because they liked pizza. The restaurant was family orientated and encouraged parents to bring their children. There was a soft play area for the kids which was free so that brought in a lot of customers. It was generally quieter at night and after nine it was only couples who came in for a meal. The order only took twelve minutes to cook and it was brought out sizzling hot.

Michael took a slice of the pizza and put it on the plate for Evelyn. Who looked at the size of the portion and thought that one slice would be enough as she took a bite. She had to use a knife and fork to cut small pieces from it so she could eat it as it was too large for her hands to handle. The taste of the mozzarella cheese and the chicken and mushroom topping was delight, the deep crusted pizza came in four huge slices. Michael was forced to eat two more slices as she struggled to eat the kebab which had four large pieces of marinated chicken, red and yellow peppers, black olives, and onion on a skewer. Evelyn had a little rest before attempting the kebab. She poured the tea and added milk then stirred.

She raised the cup to her lips and took a satisfied sip. She didn’t like strong tea and made sure that she got the first cup. Michael ate quickly. He was onto his third piece of pie in no time at all.

“I don’t know where you put it Michael I really don’t.’ If I’d eaten what you just have I wouldn’t be able to eat for a week.’

“You can take the kebab home you know they will wrap it up for you.’

“Can I, I hate to be rude and not eat it but my stomach won’t hold any more.’

Michael got the young girls attention and asked if she would wrap the kebab so that Evelyn could take it home.

Her plate was quickly taken away without question and placed into a pizza hut box.

“Thank you so much.’

Michael finished his Kebab then poured out the last of the water. He added milk to Evelyn’s tea it and then drank his water. “that’s better he said finally.’

“You must have been hungry to finish that lot off.’

“When you work as hard as I do the body is in constant need of energy.

“I wouldn’t like your food bill for a week.’

“My father grows much of the salad and vegetables that I eat and my meat is given free from Stevie Philips butcher shop.’ “My Mam just goes in and asks for a week’s supply and Stevie gives it to her.’ “I did a little advertising stunt where I got my photo taken eating a huge mixed grill. Stevie got posters made and it has a slogan which reads “Eat the breakfast of champions” He has it inside the shop and he says it has improved trade. Who am I to argue?’ if it brings in customers I’m happy and so is my mother.’ We get around £30.00 pounds worth of meat so it’s a win, win all round.’
