“It will have to be more than he’s earning now Harry or you will not get him.’

“I will speak with Bob on Monday.’

“Ring him tomorrow and ask him to come for a pint then discuss it in private that way your bosses won’t know.’

Aye, I never thought of that.’

“I will ring the shop owners and find out how much rent you need to pay them; you in the meantime can cost all the materials that you will need plus the routing machine and other tools. We have to set out a business plan before we can approach the bank. You can write them down for me and bring them when we have dinner tomorrow. The sooner I can get all the facts and figures then I can draw up the plans on the computer. The print out can be given to the bank for them to look at. I will write what your vision is and what the turnover will be after the first year and so on.

There’s more to this than what meets the eye isn’t there.’

To begin with yes, but once we have it on the system it will be easier to manage.’

When Bethany and Wendy returned to the table. Emma told them of their business plan.

“Here’s us trying to get him laid and he’s talking business said Bethany.’

“He hasn’t time to get laid he has too much to do and so have I.’

“They are so alike aren’t they?’

 “Driven by ambition said Wendy.’

“They will certainly make a good team.’

Alan and Vic came back from the bar with more drinks and asked how his brother was getting on with Emma.’

“Oh they are doing just fine.’

“So when are we going back to your flat then asked Alan?’

“Soon as we finish our drinks.’ There’s taxi’s outside so we can just hop into one of them.’

Alan went over to his brother and told him that they were leaving. He slipped him a tenner and a packet of condoms. “I’ll see you in the morning said Alan.’

“It’s already morning stupid.’

“Oh aye it is, see you later on then.’

Alan downed his beer then waited for the girls to sup their drinks before he and Vic headed for the exit. It was near chucking out time when Emma and Harry left, they took a cab back to her place where she showed Harry how to set up a business plan. Then the two of them went to bed. They didn’t make love. They just went to sleep.

It was well after nine o’clock when Harry woke up; he dressed quickly then closed the door quietly as he left. He was lucky enough to only wait five minutes for a bus that dropped him in Percy Main. Walking along the road quite pleased with himself. He wouldn’t tell his parents until everything was in place and ready to start. Evelyn and his mother were up when he got home.
