“You can box a bit as well said Willie.’

Michael poured Evelyn another glass of champagne and got the waiter to bring Willie another large scotch.

“I hope that you will both come along when I fight for the British title in November.’

“We’d love to go wouldn’t we Evelyn.’

“You will have to stay in a hotel over night because the fight will be held at Wembley Arena.’

“Don’t worry though I will take care of that for you.’

“That is so kind of you,’ thank you.’

They talked right until after one in the morning then Michael who had only had one glass of champagne said he would drive them home.

Evelyn was quite light headed after drinking four glasses of champagne, she liked the taste of it so much it went down faster than the lemonade. Her father excused himself and went to the toilet.

“So now that we are alone will you come out with me tomorrow night?’

“Where to?’

“Anywhere you wish.’

“Well I don’t like sitting in a pub, I’d rather go somewhere where I’ve never been before; like go and see a play at the theatre

“Okay I will have a look and see what is on tomorrow night.’

“It was just a suggestion Michael, I mean…

“Look I will find us a play we can go to; would you prefer to go and see a musical, an opera perhaps, or would you like to see a stage play?’

“I would love to see a stage play.’

“Alright a stage play it is then, I will book us in at the theatre royal tomorrow.

“Won’t that be expensive?’

“Don’t worry about the expense Eve; I’ve just made a lot of money from my fight tonight and I will make even more from my British title fight in November,’ think of experience you will get from seeing a live performance on stage.’

“Not any of my family have been to a theatre before.’

“When Willie returned Evelyn told him that Michael was taking her to the theatre royal in Newcastle.

“That’s very nice Michael, I’m sure that Evelyn will enjoy going. She loved being in the plays at school didn’t you love.’ I went to watch her in a production of Pygmalion she was very good. ’She played the lead role did our Evelyn. Aye, she were Eliza Doolittle.’

“So you didn’t tell me that you were a talented actress Eve.’
