Albert Kinnear the Librarian, who's parents came from Swindon but live in Pinetree Gardens, his father Jack is an engineer. He is a keen gardener and Pigeon fancier. Albert meets the daughter of Charlie and Elizabeth Millsap. They live on Kenton Road, in a bought property. He also is a pigeon man who has wangled his way into a chairman's job. he is a welder down the docks. No one is good enough for their daughter and they resent the relationship between Laura and Albert. Then there is William Owen(Willick) a roofing builder who lives in Cedarwood Avenue with two son's and a daughter. Alan is a jack the lad; he will sleep with any woman given the chance. Harry the youngest is a joiner and the brains in the family. Evelyn his daughter is twenty five and her father is pushing her to meet a man and get married so he can have grandchildren.

After the interview he went back to his changing room and showered before getting dressed. There wasn’t a mark on his face as he combed his black hair. He placed his blue and white trunks and dressing gown into his bag along with his foul proof protector, boots, and socks. He carried his bag out to the ring where he was surrounded by fans and autograph hunters. He signed as many as he could then went to where Evelyn was sitting. Hello Mr Owen said Michael holding out his hand and William stood up and took it. “You fought really well thank you for the tickets.’

“I hope that you don’t mind if I call on Evelyn.’

“Mind’ I would be honoured if you would grace us with your presence next Sunday for dinner.’

“Are you sure, I mean I don’t want to intrude or anything.’

“Not at all, you won me a lot of money tonight.’

“How much have you won dad?’

“One hundred and sixty pounds.’

“Giz a sub then dad I’m going to the Tux wi Vic.’

Willick peeled off forty quid from a wad and gave it to his son.’

Cheers dad said Alan.

We have a little reception if you would care to join me Evelyn; don’t worry I will make sure that you and your dad get home alright.’

Harry asked if he could come with Alan to the nightclub. “Alright little brother it’s time you got your cherry picked.’

They went to the exit and waited until Bethany and Wendy came out.

“Meet my little brother Harry he’s coming with us, maybe you can fix him up with one of your friends.’

There will be a lot of girls from the Uni there tonight so I’m bound to know a few of them.

The taxi arrived and they all got in Alan sat up front and told the taxi driver to take them to “The Tux”

The driver needed no prompting and drove them straight there.

Larry Ritson the bouncer wasn’t going to allow Harry in until Alan told him that Mickey Clément’s was going out with his sister. The former boxer had fought Mickey as an amateur and as soon as Alan told him he waved them all in.

Back at the Mayfair Ballroom the celebrations had begun. All the local lads who had boxed on the bill that night were enjoying a pint.’

“Can I get you a drink Mr Owen?’

“Please my friends call me Willie or Willick.’

Alright Willie,’ there’s a free bar so have what you like.’

“In that case I’ll have a whiskey please.’
