“Thank you Mr Templeton.’

Cassie got up and Ian showed her to the door and told her he would be in touch.

Sandy Longmuir had returned home to Douglas on the Isle of Man on March 17th 1976. It was St Patrick’s Day and he was looking forward to going out with a few friends to celebrate. He opened the door and brought in his case which had lots of cigarettes and three bottles of whiskey. He was able to sell all the cigarettes to the shop owner on the island at a good rate and make a small profit. He picked up the mail from the floor and walked into the kitchen and sat down he opened one up to find his shares had increased. There was a letter from Pai with some more photos of his son Thom playing rugby at school.’ He smiled knowing his son had a keen interest in the sport that he loved.

There was a knock at the door and he went to answer it. He opened the front door to a little man in spectacles with a brief case.’

“Hello Mr Longmuir, you are a hard man to track down may I come in?

Well I’m rather busy, I’ve just got…

“I know where you have been Mr Longmuir we have been following you.’ I think you ought to let me in or this could get very nasty for you.’

“You had better piss off from my door or I will get very nasty with you.’ who the fuck are you anyway?’

I’m Neville Sedgwick, I work for Blue Star House.’

“So fuck, what do you want?’

“Just to give you this.’ Neville Sedgwick handed him a writ then told him that he’d been officially served.

“What’s this all about?’

“Read it Mr Longmuir it is self-explanatory. Good day.’

With that Neville Sedgwick walked away and got into his car and drove away.

Sandy closed the door and went inside he cut open the writ and began to read it.

“Bastard’s said Sandy out loud. I will kill that bitch for this and the bastard she fucking about with.’

He picked up the telephone and rang Neil Sarin’s office.

“I’m sorry Mr Longmuir said his secretary but Mr Sarin is in court this afternoon.’

“Can you ask him to ring me as soon as he gets back it’s urgent.’

He opened one of the bottles of whiskey and poured himself a large glass of it then threw some ice in from the freezer. He took a large swallow then read over the writ with demands from his wife’s solicitor.’

He wanted to pick up the telephone and shout down the phone after ringing her council but he knew that was no good.’
