David came down to her department he took her in his arms and kissed her then told her that her divorce would come through soon then she would be free from Sandy Longmuir forever.

When Friday arrived Cassie was apprehensive as she walked alone into the solicitors offices in Stowell Street. The Blue Star building on the fourth floor was where she had an appointment with Ian Templeton.’

The receptionist rang through to tell him that Cassie had arrived and he asked that she be shown to his office.

“Good afternoon Mrs Longmuir, I’m Ian Templeton and I will be handling your divorce case.’

Cassie took his hand and shook it before Ian asked her to take a seat.

She sat with her legs crossed as Ian explained what he had done.

“It seems like your husband has been very shrewd. He’s cleared out his accounts and moved them elsewhere but I have been in touch with (TEC) and have asked them where his money has been paid into.’ Apparently he has an account on the Isle of Man. I did some digging and found out that he has bought properties on the island. Your husband has been quietly salting money away for some time now.’ “I also discovered he sends one hundred pounds per month to a woman in Thailand. This may come as a bit of a shock to you Mrs Longworth but your husband has a son.’

“He’s what?’

“Apparently ten years ago he registered the birth of his son not only in Phuket but here in England.’

“So his son is ten years old and he hasn’t told me about him. This means he was having an affair with this woman when we were married.’

I’m afraid so, he has bought property in Phuket which she, her son, and her mother are residing in at this time. The property is in your husband’s name.

“That is not surprising at all.’

“You husband has also several hundred thousand pounds tied into British Gas shares.’

“Now here is the good part.’ We can make him sell all of his properties and make sell his shares or he can settle out of court. Either way Mrs Longmuir you win.’ Would you like me to pursue this?’

“Yes, I feel as if I have been used during our marriage, I have cooked for him and cleaned the house and done his dirty laundry.  All he has ever done is treated me like a doormat.’

“I estimate that he has assets of over one million pounds that we know about. He may have more.’

“What I will say is this: that we know all about his activities in the Isle of Man and in Phuket and if he doesn’t pay up then we will inform her Majesty’s tax inspectors where he stands to lose everything for tax Evasion. And he could also face a lengthy prison sentence.’

“He won’t have a choice Mrs Longmuir.’

“I have no sympathy for him; please tell me how long my divorce will take?’

“I estimate about six months.’ Your settlement should take about two months.’
