1. My first year

Who knew that a Cunning and smart slytherin could fall in love with a kind and loyal hufflepuff. But before I get to that, let me go to the beginning. The very beginning. It was my first year at Hogwarts, the beautiful school of witchcraft and wizardry. My parents, the Lupins, stuffed me into a train full of many different students all alone, scared, and with a cat stuffed in a animal carry on. I searched and searched for an open cart but found none. I finally pulled open a cart door that had a Broad, chubby, and a blond haired boy sitting inside.

"Uh… could I squeeze in here with you guys?" I asked. One of the bigger boys looked at me with a fowl face. "There's no carts open." I tried to explain.

"Come on you two! Let her sit in here with us!" The blond haired boy said. The chubby boy in the cart gave the blond boy a "Are you kidding me" face. I rubbed my shoulder in embarrassment. The blond boy motioned for me to come in and I sat next to him.

" Thank you. I thought I was gonna haft to sit in the hall." I said. The blond boy smiled at my bad joke. "No problem. Is that a cat?" He asked.

"Yes it is! It's a girl."I replied.

"What's her name?" The broad looking boy asked.

"Snow." I said. He stared at the pure white cat.

"I like it." He said.

"Thanks I named her myself."

"Speaking of names, I never asked you what yours was." The blond boy said.

"Abigail Lupin. But you can call me Abby." The blond boy nodded.

"And yours?" I asked. He pointed to the broad boy then the chubby one.

"That's Goyle and that boy is Crabbe." Then he pointed at himself. "And I'm Malfoy. Draco Malfoy."

We talked and talked in the train cart for the whole ride and l learned a lot about Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle that day. I hoped that we would get in the same house. Soon we finally arrived at Hogwarts! A huge man the size of a half giant greeted me at the train door.

"Ah miss Lupin. Your dad told me to keep a close eye on ye." The man said with a friendly smile.

"You know my dad?" I asked.

"Of course I do! First years to the boats!" The huge man roared. "By the way, I'm Hagrid." He held out his giant hand for me to shake.

"I'm Abby Lupin but you already knew that." I shook his hand and he pushed me towards the boats.

"Here Abby, follow me. You can ride with us." Draco said. Crabbe and Goyle nodded in agreement. I follow close behind them and we soon made it to the boats. As we floated across the lake, the castle got bigger and bigger in the distance. Soon we reached the school and a tall lady led us in. She told us to wait in a hall and stepped through two big doors. The room stayed quiet until Malfoy nudged me in the shoulder. "Watch this." He whispered. Then he spoke. "Looks like the famous Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." A murmur rushed threw the crowd of first years. Suddenly, everyone looked at a boy with big round glasses and a lightning mark on his forehead. The boy looked at Draco with a "who are you?" Look. Draco began to walk to the boy and kept on talking to him. I could hardly hear what was happening since the minuting grew louder. Soon, Draco held his hand out to the boy but he rejected it. Draco was so discusted, he didn't notice that the lady was back to take us in. She talked to the two and soon Draco walked back over to Crabbe, Goyle, and I.

"That didn't go as planned." He whispered to me. I chuckled. The lady led us into a big room filled with hundreds of other students and slowed at the other side of the room. The lady unwrapped a piece of cloth, which happened to be a hat, and set it on the stool that say in front of her.

"When your name is called, you will come and sit on the stool and your house will be assigned." She said. She then unrolled a piece of paper and began to call names. "Manning, Taylor." A girl walked nervously up to the stool and the lady put the hat on her head. Suddenly the hat moved and it came alive.

"Hmmm. Very kind and brave, but smart in different ways. This one is really hard, but I'm gonna have to go with… Griffindoor!" One table,I was guessing was the Geiffindoor table, roared with applause and Taylor happily skipped to the table. More kids kept on getting called up until finally Draco got called up. Before the hat touched his head, the hat yelled, "Slytherin!" My heart sunk. My father had told me that Slytherin is a bad house to be in. "Well maybe Crabbe or Goyle will get the same as me." I thought. But I thought wrong. They both got Slytherin too. Then I was called. Draco and the others looked at me with hopeful faces. Crabbe gave me a thumbs up. I sat on the stool and the lady put the hat on my head. "Oh I like you. Kind and gentle with a scent of…" the hat sniffed in air. "Exploration. Very friendly but unsure with her new friends." I looked at Draco. "I know just the house for you. Hufflepuff!" The hufflepuff table roared for me I smiled forgetting all about Draco until I saw his sad face. My frown emedietly disappeared. I walked to the table and sat down.

"Are you okay?" A voice asked me.

I turned and saw another first year sitting next to me.

"Yeah. It's just my friends got put in a different house." I said.

"Me two. I know how you feel. At least it's not like we can't see them at all." The girl continued. "I'm Hannah by the way. Hannah Reads."

"I'm Abigail Lupin but you can call me Abby."

We were led to the Hufflepuff dorm room where we were shown where to sleep. I being really exhausted, headed strait to bed. Hannah followed behind.

"So who is your friend?"

Hannah asked.

"I have three actually."

I replied.

"Three?! I only have one!" Hannah said.

"And who's that?" I asked.

"Hopefully you." I smiled.

"Yep. Me. That's the one."

Hannah sighed in relief. "Yes! One friend!" We both laughed.
