4. The secrets we hide

"When he saw the sparkles and stars slowly fade to reveal his love. He immediately comforted her and answered her questions. He asked for her name, and as he expected was as beautiful as her beauty, Marina. He explained she was in his dimension called, "Dream's Reality". He showed her his tree and his endless lavender grass. Though, everything was going well, Marina politely asked to go back to her dimension. He accepted to bring her back but, she had to hear what he had to say. He showed her his affection, he explained his love as he watched from background and deep down he knew they were meant to be. Marina refused his love, for she was already seeing someone and was expecting a baby. Montorn was devastated, he never knew how much a couple of words would hurt so much. He send her back to her dimension as he promised but, not everything turns down as expected. He began to go crazy, fighting on who's fault it was, him or his love. He became furious at everything and everyone. He wasn't the nice simple person anymore. One day, he couldn't decide who to be anymore, a good person or just seek revenge. He began to split into two beings. Both looked similarly but different personalities. They both went there own ways and ruled there own way in the minds of others. The good one thought to change his name to Woultren to get a distinction from his "twin". The evil one kept Montorn and caused mischievous things everywhere. Montorn wanted his revenge on the woman who denied him so, he haunted her with nightmares until she passed away. Until now, they continue to do their own things and some say the ones who are of the blood line of Marina get the never ending nightmares from Montorn. The end." She took a long sighed and slumped on her seat looking at the ceiling.

So that's what Sasha was afraid of...., I thought. Though, I can't say that this story can be actually real or fake.

Merlin sat up and said,"Does she really want me to believe this is happening to me? It's FICTION! Not reality!" She slumped on her seat. "Maybe I NEED  to go to therapy."

"Hey, don't say that!" I said

"Well it's true! I mean I've been having nightmares all the time...." she said with a little fear in her voice. "I can't even sleep and drive away people with my awesome bags under my eyes." She reached to her eyes and put her hand on them.

"......Well not me." She looked up to me and I blushed. "AND S-SASHA!"

"Yeah, I guess so...." she said looking down. I wanted to comfort her but I didn't know how. "He! It's better to have you guys around! You always make a simple day go absolutely nuts!"

Hmph, I smiled. I liked that about Merlin. She always turn the sad situations to fun. "Can I ask you something?"

"Sure" she smiled.

"Remember in first grade, the time you came and got the bullies in trouble?" I asked.

"Hm? You mean... on the roof?" I nodded. "That was you?!" She said surprised.

"Y-yeah that was me." I said disappointed, I thought she knew it was me all along. "Anyway......why'd you come help me out? You had a choice to ignore me but you didn't."

"Well, because I couldn't just leave you there. That's just being selfish." She gave me a side smile.

Merlin....you are so kin-

"But then again, I was fascinated with superheroes." I felt like tons of sword just sliced through me.

"Oh really? I think that's the reason you came to help me...." I said crying inside.

"But, whatever the case was, I'm glad I got you out of a situation like that." She laughed a little and then gave me a smile. I couldn't help but smile. I'm glad I'm friends with Merlin I wouldn't trade her for the world. We kept looking at each other until I realized how weird it would have looked for her. I snapped out of it and said, "uh, can I ask you something else?"

"Uh, sure?" She said.

"What was that forehead thing you did back then?" I touched my forehead as somehow she would do it again.

"HE?! I-I uh-!" The bell rang and the kids were heading out of there classes. Opening and closing lockers. "OH! Seems like school is over! Time to go home! YAY!" She stood up with the book in her hands and she opened up the curtains.

"W-wait!" She was already walking to the exit. Ugh, did I say something wrong? I ran behind her, to catch up. We made our way out of school and toward the bus area, which wasn't very far. Merlin didn't look at me in the eye and almost seemed embarrassed. We saw Sasha in the distance and waved for her attention. She ran toward us and began to ask every single question in the universe.

"So? Did you read it? Are you done? Do you think it could be true? I think so! For sure-" She began to squeal.

"Um... isn't these just a..... book?" Merlin said.

"Well, yeah! But what did you think?" Said Sasha.

"Well...... I mean I don't think it's the-" a little girl came and hugged Merlin. She reached up to her elbow.

"Sune? What are you doing here I thought I told you to wait for me at your school. Something could have happened to you!" She said as she kneeled down beside her.

"I know... but! I haf a surdpise fo' you!" She said. She took out a small drawing of a black and white cat and under it was her writing it said, Shone. "It is a cat! And heh name is shon!"

"Aw~ she so cute!" Sasha said.

"Wow! You made this yourself! You are an awesome artist Sune!" Merlin said. Sune had a big smile on her face. "Sorry guys but I have to go early."

"It's okay" I said.

"Yeah, it's no problem." Sasha said.

"Oh, and here!" Merlin handed over Sasha's book.

"Keep it for a little while longer. I want you to understand it." Said Sasha.

"...okay." She said with an awkward smile. "See ya guys tomorrow! Say bye Sune."

"Bye" she said happily. They walked over to cross the street and got into a grey car.

"Hey! Lover boy!" Sasha said, snapping her fingers.

"Lover boy?" I said.

"So! How was that alone time with Merlin~." She said teasingly.

"U-uh....your bus is about to leave!" I said pointing at the direction of the buses.

"Huh? Oh I forgot!" She ran to her bus and then turned around. "You better tell me tomorrow!"

"No promises" I called back. She got into the bus with a couple of other people and then they rode off. I began to walk down the street into town. I walked past bakery's, restaurants and shops. I took my time before I got "home". I don't like staying inside because I have nothing to do. So, I walk around and watch everyone and everything. I stumbled upon a bridge that was surrounded by forests. People were jogging and walking on it. I walked to the middle and sat on the ledge. The light of the sun reflected of the water and the leaves slowly fell onto the water. I stayed there for a while until it got dark and I started walking home. When I got into the two story building that said, Orphanage. I walked inside and was greeted by a boy sweeping the floors.

"Hey, Jason! You're back!" He said.

"Yup, you need any help Caden?" I asked.

"Nah, I'm almost done." He shrugged.

"Okay, well if you need anything I'll be in my room." I said as I walked to the stairs.

"Alrighty!" He said. I walked up the stairs and walked to room 102. I opened it and threw my backpack across the room. My room is very small, kinda like a walk in closet or a master bathroom. I had a bed, a rug, a table and a chair. Nothing fancy. I slumped in bed and looked at the ceiling. I thought of nothing, when I stay here, I don't usually have the mind I have at school. I'm very quite and shy here. I mind my own business and I always stay inside my room until it's time for me to go to school. That's always my routine. I try to stay as far away from this jail. I started closing my eyes and sleep took over me.
