The world went to hell shortly after that first attack on the city I was in. Its was every man from themsleves until one day all the people who held a little bit of power silently agreed to live away from eachother. Now the world stayed divided up in to sections.

The first group of people were called the outsiders, the were the ones that you had to avoid they trusted no one and you were smart to do the same with them. Outsiders are the people who would kill you no matter what the age or circumstance. The were the closest group, and the most deadly, they had most of the weapons left. Then there was my group we are called the survivors, and that is exactly what we are. We do what we have to do to survive and nothing more, literally nothing more then that. The other groups are the murder, the lost, and the last. I don't know much about them, I just know their names.

2. Chapter two.

We leave our "house" , which is really only one small room for the both of us, and head toward the main cabin.  As we arrive I can easily see that it is eight thirty because almost everyone thats in our camp is here. The elders are all sitting around the large tables that we managed to make stable, the kids chasing each other while their parents are getting them food, and the others are just hoping that they will get a good sized breakfast.  Gemma and I head over to the kitchen to get a breakfast for the road.

As soon as we enter the kitchen I take in the smell of eggs cooking and the sight of almost nothing but shining metal. If I wasn't living in this camp I would almost think  that we lived the way we all normally used to. It was like waking up on the weekend and your parents are making you breakfast.

Wyn, the cook, notices us walking towards him and hurries to get a back pack filled with food for the day. I smile gratefully to him glad that he didn't try to start a conversation with me. I walk to the counter on the other side of the kitchen and grab four waters.

I drag my hand across the cool metal and sigh, today will be the first time that Gemma and I have to take Holly and  Archer to the hospital to trade. They just recently started training but because the others that went wih us commited suicide we had no choice but to take them along. Sava, the one who trained me and Gemma, said that it would be a good idea to take them along so they can get some experience.

Gemma walks up behind me and takes the bag off my back and puts it on her own. You can see the weight from the food makes her slouch a little.  We leave the main cabin and head over to the garage to grab guns, the trades might usually end well but you never know, I grab mine and check to be sure if it is loaded and it is. I look around the garage and see that we are trading people. Once and a while we trade people, but not our own, they are the ones that we find tryingto raid our camp they are from other camps and are useless to us.

Our camp gets raided, or attempted to be raided, at least once a month and we tend to get plenty of people but most of them kill themselves or we kill them. The last group that tried to raid us was all shot on site, not one survived it.

One of the people standing and waiting to leave is a little girl that couldn't be older then ten. Her light skin had goosebumps over it, as though she thought she was going to be murdered, and if you looked close enough you could see she was trying to keep herself from shaking in terror. I couldn't blame her, in her shoes, I wouldn't be even able to keep myself functioning.

Gemma pushes the other four in the car and I help the little girl into the back. She looks at me with her dark eyes and nods, almost as if she was thanking me for being nice enough to help her. I wait until she buckled in and then I get in the passenger seat. Se at least deserves to be safe.

" Where the heck is Holly and Archer?" Gemma asks her voice sounding impatient.

"I don't know, but don't worry they'll be here soon enough." I say not that worried.

Holly and Archer are responsible kids but they have a tendency for being late. Almost instantly after I sayed what I had the run through the rusted garage door. They jump in the back with the other people and start laughing.

" This is going to be a long drive isn't it? " Gemma asks and complains.

I nod, I remember how excited we were when we went on our first trade we laughed and talked the whole way there. Gemma used to be like that until the second trade we went on.

"Gemma." I squeal.

I was so excited,  we were going on our second trip to trade even though Sava said we needed more training and that we were basically useless unless we got lost and need food. Sava always is so mean to us, she says that we can't do anything useful and that we get in her way.

" Calm down girls."  The man who is driving says.

I am now practically jumping up and down on the seat because of how happy I am. Gemma looks almost as haply but not quite, she seems to be in a sort of bad mood. We turn down the street that the hospital is located on and I lose it.

"We're here!" I yell, making Gemma flinch.

We get out of the car and race to catch up with the people who brought us along. We wait behind them as they shout for the outsiders to come out and exchange what was talked about. After aboutthree minutes of yelling for them people start to show up. At first you can see five, which is the normal amount, but after a few minutes there appears to be  ten or so.

The "leader" of each small group goes and has a quick conversation andthn heads towards the outsiders truck.

" They stay right there." The man who we are trading with says.

I freeze as soon as we are told this but Gemma being Gemma, she goes and quietly follows. She stops when she can hear them and waves for me to go to her. I tip toe over to her peak my head around the corner to see what they were doing.

They are passing boxes amoung eachother and smiling when they recieve them. After about five boxes our group tuns and walks our way, they make it five steps before bullets race through them. Their blood sprays every where like rain, thick red rain. Gemma screems as I turn and grab her arm pulling her along wih me.

Thats what we were told of anyhing like this ever happens we have to run, don't even try to drive the car. Gemma almost tripped after a couple steps and then regains her balance. I head to the car despite being told not to. I jump in the drivers seat and turn the key  startingthe engine.  I speed away shaking because of the events that just occured.

"Eve?" Holly asks.

"Yes"  I say.

" Were you scared the first time you went to trade?" She asks again, her voice a little shaky.

" No." I answer.

I look out the cracked window that is beside me. The fields that we drive passed must have once grown food and beautiful greens  but now there was nothing but dry grass that is almost all dead, like everything else thats in this world.

After about an hour we finally start to see the begining of the city. All the buildings that once held work and activity were now empty and destroyed.  If you looked close enough you could still see what each building was once built for. Every street looked more dead and grey then the last.

"Outsiders." Gemma says.

I look straight ahead and sure enough here are five Outsiders holding two people each.  The people that they are holding looked terrified as ifthey hadn't been raiding when caught. We slow to a stop a few feet away from them and Holly and Archer creep out of the car and wait for us to do the same. Gemma opens her door and gets out slamming it behind her. I get also and reopen the back doors to allow the people we're trading to get out. When the little girl who I noticed earlier is about to get out I put my hand out to stop her. She looks up at me in confusion.

"Stay in here, okay," I say. "And whats your name, I need to know if you plan to stay."

"Anna." Anna says looking more frightened then before.

I nod and close the door locking her in the car. I head over to the rest of my group and nudge the people along.  Gemma is talking to a man from outsiders and is looking annoyed.  I decide that I should take the conversation into me own hands, knowing that Gemma can get violent when provoked.

" Hello." I say with a slight nod.

The man the I had aimed my introduction to looks at me as if I was mad. He looks over at the people he brought and motion for them to come over. They walk over but seem timid at first, unsure of the fate that awaits them. All of their faces look the same, each with dull grey eyes and fair skin.

"Heres our half of the trade, now pass us yours." The man shoves the tallest person out towards me causing him to stumble over and land flat on the ground near my feet.

Gemma spits near the man and turns to go get the people I moved over here. She looks at them and counts them she turns to face me and I clearly confused on why their is someone missing. I shrug and turn back to the Outsiders.

" Theres your half, now take them before we change our minds." I spit out.

They each grab one of the people and drag them back towards the vehicle the drove here. Gemma and Archer do the same and load them into the car. I get in and take in all of the buildings that surround us. This is the last trade I was aloud to go on I mind as well try and remember it all.

I was talking to Sava the other day when she accidentally told me that I was no longer needed to go for the trade and that they wanted me to help with raids instead. They said that it was because Holly and Archer couldn't do raids but they could go trade, I did protest because I knew we needed all the help we could get.

Hoped you all loved it or , at least, liked it because I know that I loved writing it.
