The world went to hell shortly after that first attack on the city I was in. Its was every man from themsleves until one day all the people who held a little bit of power silently agreed to live away from eachother. Now the world stayed divided up in to sections.

The first group of people were called the outsiders, the were the ones that you had to avoid they trusted no one and you were smart to do the same with them. Outsiders are the people who would kill you no matter what the age or circumstance. The were the closest group, and the most deadly, they had most of the weapons left. Then there was my group we are called the survivors, and that is exactly what we are. We do what we have to do to survive and nothing more, literally nothing more then that. The other groups are the murder, the lost, and the last. I don't know much about them, I just know their names.

6. Chapter six.

Anna leans against the hut and breathes in a frightened manner. She came from here. I can't believe that she came from this camp, this very camp that is so much like our past life, carefree. Anna wasn't like everyone else here she cares enough to do what's right and is smart enough to not ask questions, she definitely doesn't belong here.

" Where do they take prisoners?" I ask in a soft tone.

" Umm, in the main building first so the leader can declare what's to be done with them." She says, her voice is shaky and she is having a hard time concentrating on what I ask her.

" Hey, Anna, why don't you go back to your family?" I ask trying to help her out.

"I can't. " Is all that she says.

I don't press her for details because now isn't the time to do so, but at some point, I will get that information. I look around and see that to people are heading this way. The first person is a man who has o be a least fifty, which in todays world is considered an elder, the other person is a little boy with wild bright red hair that covers most of his pale face.

They walk past us and the man notices Anna and waves. I move out of his view and sigh a sigh of relief, if he had seen me I would have got caught meaning rescuing Gemma would be impossible without escaping first, which definitely would be a challenge.

" Lead me there." I demand.

Anna nods and walks forward slowly letting me slip in behind the huts so I am not spotted. She walks over to the largest building in this camp and points to it, indicating that this is the building I need to go in to go get Gemma.

I slip out from behind the hut and enter the main building. The main building is mostly empty but has a small couch in the corner of the first room and a few sad looking wooden chairs. I walk across the floor, each step making a louder creak, until I get to another door. I pull the door open I nearly start crying.

Inside this room there is Gemma, she isn't doing well but at least she is alive. I gasp when she looks up and I see that her face is all bruised from being punched multiple time. She makes eye contact with me and starts to silently cry. I walk over to her and sit next to her, she leans against me and continues to cry. Anna stands in the doorway looking at us with her sad eyes.

I motion for her to come over to Gemma and I but she nods her head no and points to the corner of the room. In the corner, there is a young woman with messy dirty blonde hair and deathly white skin. She looks familiar but I don't personally know her, she must have been from our camp. I look around the rest of the room and sure enough there is another person across from the other woman. This person is an old man with graying black hair and dark skin that looks pale even for the natural darker look that he has.

Anna walks over to the man who looks unconscious and unties the rope that was used to bound his hands together. In a split second the mans hands are wrapped around her neck and her face is turning red. Anna kicks and punches him but he doesn't let go.

"Hey, let her go." I shout now very angry with then man we are tying to help.

Anna stills struggles in his grasp and is turning a worrying shade of red. She is still fighting him but as soon as she goes to escape he moves his hands so it holds her tighter. She punches him and his grasp is now really tight and she is losing her consciousness. She goes limp in his hands and still isn't breathing.

I let Gemma go and stand up trying to look intimating even though I know that I don't. I walk over to the man and stand in front of him, I raise my hand and go to strike him but he releases Anna before I do so. She is now breathing and I am beyond angry with him, we had tried to help him but he is to stupid to understand that.

Anna stirs beside us and fearfully inched away from us. I look back at the man and lose my temper. He had no right to do that to her she is just and innocent little girl who is trying t be nice.

" What is wrong with you!" I shout at him.

He looks up at me with wide eyes and I know that getting mad at him isn't going to help anything right now. After I realize this I grab the rope that Anna had tossed aside and retie his hands, he luckily doesn't fight me and willingly lets me tie them. His wrists are already bruised from the tightness of the ropes but I don't care enough about him after what he had done to Anna for no good reason.

" You will stay here and be quiet, and yes we will be taking that lady over there with us but because of what you did you will be staying." I spit at him, glad that I can at least make his life a little worse then it already is.

"Sure, you will," He says "are you so sure that you will be leaving me behind when I know so much about your past and where to find your dear sister Thalia?"

"You know what I don't give a crap what you think you know you crazy old man, and I am quite happy still leaving you behind." I say truthfully. I miss my sister but I'm not stupid and believe him when he is saying that there is a possibility that Thalia is still alive.

"Okay your loss." He says when he shrugs.

I hate people like this they think that they are so smart and know everything. There is a little voice in my head saying that I should take him just to see if my sister is alive but I ignore it because I am trying to focus on getting everyone out of here.

I turn around and look at the woman and help her and don't have to untie her hands because her wrists were not tied like the mans. Now I see why they had his hands tied.

"You okay?" I ask worried about what happened to her.

"Yeah I'm okay." She says nodding clearly trying to make it true even though both of us know that it isn't.

I nod and look at Gemma and Anna, they both are talking and look a little more relaxed now that the man isn't free to walk around. I make eye contact with Gemma and look towards the door and she does the same. All of us walk to the door and make our way silently back through the main building.

Once we are out of the building we slip in between each hut and make it effortlessly through the camp, sure we have to sink into the shadows at a few passing children or elders but other then that we don't run into anyone that would cause us trouble.

The woman that is with us is having a hard time keeping up and we have to stop for her to catch her breathe but that is expected because the looks of it she spent way too much time in that back room in the main building being forgotten and malnourished.

We make it to the border and have to wait for the guards to pass, Anna tripped and it caught their attention but because we are on the inside of the camp they didn't go to investigate what caused it. We watch them walk off and then we sprint for the small forest, even the woman is trying her hardest to escape from here as fast as she can.

We make it and slow down to a walk so that everyone can catch there breathes. Underneath the coverage of the trees it is cool and helps keep the intense heat of the afternoon sun at bay. We walk a little deeper into the forest and stop to sit for a few minutes.

"We will rest here for the night and in the morning, we will head back to my camp." I say trying to make it sound easy enough, but really, we will have to spend a night in the city too.
