Chapter 3

I opened my eyes and realized that I was not in my room. I'm in someone else's room, I thought to myself. Instantly I remembered going to the park, getting lost, being dragged into the woods and...running towards a house. I can't believe this is happening to me.

The door to the room opened and in walked a familiar face. The face of the man who has been in my visions more than once. He of course looked the same, but in person he was unbelievably beautiful. He had the looks of a movie star with his blonde hair and not a strand out of place.

"How are you feeling?" Carlisle asked. I wasn't really sure how I was feeling, but he didn't need to know that.

"Fine," I answered in a small voice, putting my head down.

"May I know your name?" he asked.

"Ariella," I whispered.

"Well Ariella I am-"

"Carlisle," I said so low that it wouldn't be audible for anyone.

"How did you know?" What? There is no way he could have heard that.

"I uh...I don't know," I lied. I watched as Carlisle raised an eyebrow with a look that said he didn't believe me.

"Okay..." he trailed off, the uncertainty evident in his voice. "Lets move on, shall we?" I sighed in relief at that.

"So, before you fainted you said 'I'm being chased'. Who was chasing you?".

"Some guys-" I was pulled into a vision.

It was the future:

"Where have you been?" Mrs. Shelton asked not noticing Carlisle behind me.

"I got lost. I'm sorry."

"Go to your room. You are to be punished," she said. Carlisle stepped to the door.

"Mrs. Shelton if I may explain. I am Carlisle Cullen. Ariella ran to my house when she was being chased by some guys," He said.

"Well it's nice to meet you Carlisle. Call me Amanda," She said with a flirtatious smile. Poor guy.

"Um, yes, nice to meet you too. I must go now, my wife is waiting for me." He emphasized 'wife'. As he turned away from her he turned to me.

"Until next time Ariella," he said.

"Bye Carlisle," I replied. He walked away and when he was gone Mrs. Shelton grabbed my arm pulling me into the house.

"As punishment you will not eat until I say so and you will be cleaning, a lot." I nodded not seeming surprised. I always cleaned a lot.

I felt someone shaking me gently.

"Are you okay Ariella?" Carlisle asked looking concerned. I looked around and noticed another in the room. She was beautiful with blonde hair and a body to make anyone feel insecure.

"I'm fine. Carlisle can you drive me home please?"

"Of course. Where do you live?"

"At the foster home on Calvise Avenue."

"You're in foster care?" the blonde asked.

"Yup. My parents died when I was a baby." They both gave me sympathetic looks. I can't stay here any longer, I feel like I don't belong and they make me think of what I don't have and probably never will. I stood from the bed, pushing the covers back and noticed that my clothes had been changed.

"What happened to my clothes?"

"I changed them. Yours were ripped and dirty," the blonde explained. I nodded in understanding.

"I also gave you a pair of new underwear. You weren't wearing any. Why is that?" she asked and Carlisle looked at me. Really? Are we really having this kind of conversation in front of him?

"No reason," I said. If she didn't know, I refused to tell.

"We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to," she added.

"I don't want to," I finalized.

"That's fine." The conversation ended.

"Can we leave now?" I asked Carlisle, even though I didn't want to go back.

"Sure, but after you eat something. You'll also get to meet the rest of my family." That's not fair Carlisle, I whined in my thoughts wanting to say it aloud, but I kept quiet instead.

"I'll help Esme get things ready," the blonde told Carlisle as she turned to the door.

"Thank you Rosalie." He showed his gratitude with a smile. So her name is Rosalie.

"Who is she?" I wondered.

"That's my eldest daughter." He smiled as he wrote something down on a chart. Daughter? This young man, who looked to be in his twenties, was a dad? How is that possible? As if reading my thoughts he went on.

"My children are adopted. Rosalie as well as her twin brother Jasper are my wife's niece and nephew. Than there's Emmett and Alice who are siblings, Edward and Renesmee, Bella, than last but not least there's Fred. You'll meet them when you go down stairs as well as my wife Esme." I took in every last word of his. What a big family. Ten, but isn't there eleven? Maybe he was a friend.

"We should head down now, dinners ready." After saying that he chuckled as if it were some joke. I don't see how dinner was funny unless I was dinner, but that's just crazy talk. Though with the inhuman like beauty of theirs I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't human. Ha, good one.

I followed Carlisle down stairs and to a kitchen. Inside was all nine of his family members. I guess it was a good thing the kitchen was so big.

"Hello dear," a kind women said. By her motherly aura I guessed she was Esme. "I'm Esme." Yup, I was right.

"Hi," I said shyly. Looking around I observed every person. They were the same as in my vision minus one other, but like I said he was probably a friend.

"I'm Emmett," a huge burly guy with dark curls introduced himself. I was a bit intimidated until he gave a warm smile. Now he reminds me of a big teddy bear. The thought made me laugh. "What's so funny?"

"Nothing." I controlled myself not wanting to be rude.

"Hi, I'm Alice and you're Ariella." It wasn't a question. For the next maybe two minutes everyone introduced themselves. They were all nice thankfully and after having dinner I knew it was time to go.

"It's getting late," I stated.

"Oh yes, I have to bring you home. Are you ready?" I nodded at Carlisle and with a goodbye to the Cullen's I followed him outside to his car. As we entered and put on our seat belts, he turned the ignition starting up the car and backed out of the drive way. Before I knew it we were away from that big white house, that I'd most likely never see again.
